I am an amateur model maker and enjoy all sorts of models but at the moment I am focusing on customising car kits by roof chops, suspension modifications and engine detailing. I hope to learn and help to develop interest in the hobby . My email address is peterburstow62@gmail.com if you want any personal contact, send anything or whatever.
Love those flames on the body and floor mats!!!! Looks like you have most of the pieces painted. Looking forward to seeing her all together. I'll be watching
Good morning Mike 👍. I'm so glad Steve printed those mats for me😀they are a great little detail👍😎. I've just the main chassis to detail and should be done soon🤞along with progress on others too🤞😃. Best wishes from jolly old England👍😎 Pete 🤓
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Yes, that is an issue. I need to make headlight lenses for a Model T though, and they would be good for that. - Dad did teach me how to find the center of a circle using a compass, but I never did get that right. Maybe now that I'm 50, I can figure it out better! LOL!
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage set you dividers to the radius size. Put one point on the circumference. Scribe an arc in the area you think the centre is. Now move divider point 120 degrees to a new point on the circumference. Scribe a line in the area you think the centre is. There should now be a small x,giving the centre point.i hope this explains it and I can get out of bed and make some coffee. Geometry at 6.30 am 😅👍
Some beautiful black there Pete! Funny because watching this right now, I'm painting a model car outside - on this beautiful day to! 🎉❤🇺🇸 Cheers from the free states 🍻🏁
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 me to. Most everything is painted outside. I also try to get subassemblies together for multiple kits, and get everything painted for the kits I want to work on over winter. Then during winter I have stuff to put together without having to do any painting or minimal likely brush painted parts.
@@garytanck Yes. I think that is a good idea. I'm trying to do things that way. But seriously, over here we've only had 2-3 good days in a row,so getting things prepped for a surprise break in the weather isn't that easy. My model builds take a lot of time too,as I always add lots of details and scratchbuilt parts
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 right, I'm glad to hear you got a few nice days at least! I suffer from high-anxiety so to, when it's a nice day out, I feel I better take advantage of it and then scramble all day or time I have free, to get something together to paint ... and if nothing develops I get very depressed... VERY emotionally depressed - unlike "ordinary " people, everything if a major problem or ordeal for me, and so many things just with this model building hobby, deeply depresses me, and it should not, because it's supposed to be fun, not a chore and hassle. It's enough for me to say "hell with it all"! I literally can NOT see or understand how anyone else can get SO MUCH DONE, when I'm still just trying to figure out how to get my camera to work ..
@@garytanck I agree with so much you say,Gary. I do have similar problems myself🤔. Nor do i understand how yt works. How people get 1000 views in a day for some out of the box trash and my views hardly reach 100. Several times I've thought of stopping. There seems to be too many little groups that think they are great and bore the funk out of me😅. I get out to the woods when I can,I'd much rather be outside than sat at a bench and I threw away t.v. 20 years ago😃
Thanks Steve. I'm going to flat the lacquer back and spray another coat ,to level the transfers a bit more. I very much appreciate those mats,Steve, nice little detail👍😎
No. I haven't got anything to do with that, I've been building this kit for months. It's a tribute for Trevor at Monster Hobbies on his 50th birthday 👍🎉😎
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Ahh, ok, makes sense now. I heard you say his name and I'm like 🤔 lol. Ya, I was thinking of getting in on that build but I never have enough room on my phone to record anymore 😟. Its takes so long to upload besides that, my videos won't back up, so I can't delete them yet, it's just so frustrating I say hell with it,,, but yet I wish I could be part of every group build, but my mind is like Joe Biden's now... 😐😑
Pete, nice! Great video! I've done wheel widening before to. I've also widened tires by cutting two tires and gluing both tires together to - but it was semi truck tires. Talk about heating and bending and stretching sprue is something I've done allot to. I've made wires to radio antennas to.
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 i use to build my own roll cages for racecars using sprue,,, cut them and round them, bend them using a small candle or cigarette lighter
Awesome work Pete! Sorry I don't get out much and comment much on other's videos! But I had to say that I'm glad you're finally having some nice weather!!! ❤ That Vicky is going to look sweet by the way! Been trying to get caught up checking out your videos for once! 😊 You have great patience for the "smallest" of details!!! I need to get new glasses again so I can even see close up again. Sucks trying to build anything when I can't hardly see anything with a foot and a half of my eyes. Love from USA ❤️🇺🇸
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 I looked at that kit and layed back down, been regretting that. They had them at Ollie's, I should of got 2 of them. Have a good week ahead.
The sun is a total shock to us too,Justin. Last week we had record rainfall 😠😅. I hope all's well with you and best wishes from jolly old England👍😎 Pete 🤓
Looks far better in the sun! I painted a lawn mower in a paint that did that same effect. It was in a clear-coat though. Sadly, I gave it to a friend of mine who poured gas on it and the gas ate through the paint.
