Fabbrica Italiana Automobili di Torino (or Fix It Again Tony if you were in the UK, or Fehler In Alle Teile if you were in Germany). Despite being criticised sometimes for their build quality, they made some terrific cars with great engines that drove really well. My 131 Mirafiori Sport was brilliant (especially in bright orange!).
Everyone knows Fiat stands for Fix It Again Tony. They are weekend cars. As in you drive them on the weekend and spend the rest of the week trying to fix what broke.
It's missing part of the name...it's pininfarina...that's the name of the designer who also design for alfa romeo and ferrari. I had one just like it back in the eighties in orange/tan top and fuel injection. Replaced with webbers and for what is worth, they sell anywhere from $20,000 to $30,000...treat it with respect.
I wanted a 73 124spyder when I was a Jr in college in 1973 …my mom had a fit, so I ended up with a 73 Nova SS Hatch… which is in my garage right now… I did hold forth with a pita 72 TR6 for a while…🙃
I had a 1981, and the timing belt bustted… lucky it’s not an interference engine… Mine had the automatic that i learned later was supplied by the Chevy chevette
sorry if I butt in you could have put brake fluid in the cylinders and let it take effect for 2 days then towed it with the car and surely the engine would have unlocked without dismantling everything probably the engine blocked because the head gasket burned sorry again Alessandro from Rome
Fix It Again Tony! Freaking (or another F term!) Italian Automotive Technology! Man, those things can either be really fun, or your worst nightmare! Just started watching, so we'll see which one....
No its newer then that, it looks like an 80 something. Plastic door mirrors wouldnt be available in 1970. I thought one of the hacks said it was an 80 or 78 at the beginning but I could be wrong
It's a 1979, first year of the 2.0 liters engine. I know because of the badge next to the license plate. It reads 2000 and because it's carbureted it's not an 80 or 81 which were fuel injected. I own a 1979.
I suppose every engine you get hold of is equally doomed luckily you all stay together- if you split up you could destroy 3 times as many but I bet Elon is proud of you
