Those windows look awesome! Do you also recommend "caulking" the outside of the windows, once installed? I have to attempt to do this very project this summer. Unfortunately I have to replace broken glass on 2 of the solid panel windows. Can a regular glass cutter/shop cut me a replacement piece? Any help is greatly appreciate! Thanks for sharing!
Great Work!!, Looks very Nice I am looking for a older camper to do the same type of restore on any idea on how much your camper weighs and also what is the length on your camper
+Gary West Thanks for the comment! I haven't weighed it but I would say it probably weighs around 3000 lbs. It is about 17 feet long. Good luck with your search!
I did use something called ProFlex RV to put a small bead around the sides and top. But don't use silicone. It's not meant for RVs. Thanks for watching!
Hi Richard, Great work in your camper! We have the identical camper, and I'm about to run the wiring soon. It's an empty shell right now. Can you tell me where I might be able to find the aluminum trim that goes around the outer edge of the camper? Ours is destroyed and I can deal the roof without the proper trim. Thanks for your help!
Richard Beard...i have two (15X23 1/2) Jalousie windows like the one you just installed...Do you know where i can find parts for these...Inside window frame casing to be exact...thanks
Norman, no, sorry I don't know where to get those window parts. There is a FB group for vintage trailer parts. Maybe someone there could help. Good luck!
It did OK. I’m sure not as well as a spray gun with better paint. I did notice where there was bare aluminum it peeled some and I had to put an aluminum primer on and repaint.
Well, the deeper I dug the more damage I found, so it is a totally wash out. After running the number to repair and replace all the damage I decide to take a lost. The frame and wheels are good but the siding, windows, heater, water heat, where all shot. Every corner was rotted out the roof leaked badly because of rust. No use in spending good money after bad.
Watch my video and be inspired. We are still working on ours but we will have a new vintage camper when we are done. It's more work than money. Watch Mobiltec videos.
