Ever wonder what vintage patterns vintage sellers keep for themselves? I have been selling vintage patterns professionally for 10 years and this is the first time I am sharing my vintage pattern stash with anyone (especially the internet at large).
I will be sharing my vintage pattern stash with you in full in this video. There are vintage patterns from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's as well as my 1910's pattern. I have everything from vintage dress patterns, to vintage pants patterns and even a few vintage apron patterns to boot!

You have some gorgeous gems! My biggest fear of vintage patterns is that even where the bust size fits the waists are extremely tiny. Mine is not. I doubt (know) I am not capable of sizing up that far.

Marian Martin pattern 9045 reminds me of something Marilyn Monroe would have worn. Beautiful neck detail with the band. 😊 I loved seeing all of your patterns. I have my own collection, but they don't go back as far.

In case no one mentioned it before: the Butterick 6439 would be a great vintage/reproduction comparison! The reproduction is 5708

Fantastic; so many nice patterns. I live in Belgium and have been able to buy a number of vintage pattern books from here in second-hand stores. Unfortunately, you cannot rely on the sizes of that time compared to the sizes of today. In the regular fashion industry I have a European size 44 above (Large / XL) and in terms of waist and trousers I usually have a 42 (L) (waist 32") in vintage patterns, I really can't do that. If I arrive there with a bust size of 102cm or 40" then I often cannot find a pattern in a vintage book, or there must be XXL patterns in it, or very loose fitting garments. Such a pity. Because they often do not go beyond a size 38 (M). And there are such nice models, but they are difficult to make to my size, especially in terms of bust. Weren't there people here in Europe with a larger bust at that time???? I worked in the second-hand clothing industry, and there I was able to buy a number of original vintage dresses from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Suddenly I need at least 3 to 4 sizes larger than now (for Belgium) and 2 to 3 sizes bigger for the Netherlands. I think they wanted to protect Europeans from a negative self-image so they adjusted the sizes. See, I still fit in a size...

Yup. They all have to fit in the one box (unless they are going to be sold). I will do another announcement about the SAL in January and the SAL itself will probably be in February. That way we can all have fun new skirts for spring.

I would absolutely love to be involved in the sew along for McCalls 4645! It's not everyday you run across a pattern that is actually almost your size. And it is an amazing pattern too. Butterick 4110 is amazing! Would be an absolutely stunning blouse on. You have an absolutely fabulous pattern collection. I hope to someday have a pattern collection this wonderful. I love the Marian Martin patterns, but my favorite pattern I own is a Spadea pattern that fits my daughter.

I have seen that last butterick pattern as a "retro" reproduction.....they must have reproduced at some time. Maybe you could find one of the reproductions in a more reasonable size.

That last dress with the tied shoulder straps and multiple styling options was actually released as a reproduction "retro" Butterick pattern several years ago (B5708). We can agree that reproduction patterns are pretty lousy, but maybe having the repro pattern in your size could be helpful as a reference while sizing the vintage pattern up? At any rate, it was great fun having a glimpse into your personal stash. :)

Perhaps you have mention this but... I love the dresses of the 1940s; my dimensions are 36-26-37. Do you offer such patterns, or know where I can find them?

Patterns with your exact measure aren’t available. However, if you start with a bust 36” pattern you can tailor down the other measures as you need.
