George from ImagiNERDing shares some amazing and vintage photos of the interiors of the Treehouse villas from Walt Disney World from 1983. These one-of-a-kind images showcase the living room, kitchen, bedroom and lower level of the Treehouse Villas at Disney World.
Special thanks to Chad Stevenson for allowing me to use these photos. Chad's father took these photos of the Treehouse Villas and he had a great eye for capturing what the villas were like.
The Treehouse Villas became part of the Disney Vacation Club since 2009. Before that, they were part of the original plans of the Lake Buena Vista Community.
Originally, the 1973 plans for the Lake Buena Vista Community called for a residential development with four different community themes based on: golf; tennis; boating; and western (equestrian) activities. In 1974, 133 townhomes and 4 model homes were built. The following year, Disney announced a retirement community, additional townhomes and residential apartments for Lake Buena Vista. The 60 Treehouse homes (now called treehouse villas) were finished by 1975.
But things changed!

Hi there! Thanks so much for posting your video! My sister and I stayed in the tree house villas on several trips to Disney in the 80’s!!! My Dad drove our family all the way from Maine to Disney about 6 different times. We would stay in the treehouses for about 2 weeks each visit. 2 of them during Christmas time. Dad strapped a live X-mas tree to the top of our station wagon and brought it all the way from Maine to FW where we set it up in our tree house villa. My father having a love for animals..... used to feed the peacocks. As well as the squirrels. The photo you have of the peacock at the door was most likely caused by my family!! May even be the same tree house! One day my sister and I were on our way to the pool. The most embarrassing thing happened... We had 6-8 huge peacocks following us!! Once we sat down by the pool, the birds were staring at us and surrounding us. People looked at us with much confusion lol! Being pre teens at the time, we were mortified. The treehouses have changed so much now. I have to say, I enjoyed the old version much more. That spiral staircase was awesome!!! I will definitely call my parents and get some old pics of the treehouses for you to upload and share. During that time as a child growing up in the cold winters of Maine... All those trips to sunny FL made me want to live there. I now reside in Sarasota, FL with my husband and precious daughter. We hope to book a stay in the treehouses eventually. The pricing sure has gone up so hopefully we can make that happen one of these days in the future. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful photos! It was such a nice visit into so many great memories from my childhood!

We stayed in the TreeHouses in 1990. I remember being terrified of the downstairs room because the door led to the outside and I was sure Jason Voorhees was lurking 😂. But I do remember otherwise loving them and my father enjoying that they were set apart. He always loved staying at the old fort wilderness so this was right up his alley

I stayed in the TreeHouses in 1980-81, they had the older interiors, My dad is an architect and sketched out the plans of the villas. We also took picture of the exterior and interior. Sent them to Imaginerding! Was a great place to stay!

My stay in the treehouse villas ones October 1, 1982. Yes that was open the week of Epcot, we were there for opening day with close friends of ours and as a foursome we decided to stay in the treehouse villas. Vacation was booked as a “grand plan“ one of the earliest all you care to do vacations. Including three meals anywhere you liked, Use of watercraft etc. I need to find out where all the slides are of the vacation!

My uncle and aunt stayed in the bottom room, I could have sworn the bed had a netting with a ship or Donald Duck but this was in 2000
