The radio you want to pair it up with is the "TRC-457" The radio in the picture is a 23 channel "TRC-57". Radioshack replaced the 57 with the 40 channel 457 in 1978 I think. I also believe that if you brought in your 57 they would exchange it for the 457 free of charge. The 57 had a flaw with the VCO and they would have to recall the radio so they just did the exchange instead. Also the 57 was only a year old when 40 channel radios were sectioned by the FCC so I guess a lot of people that bought the 23 channel 57s would have been rather upset. These radios were $400.00 back in the day and i think they would have had a lot of very unhappy customers. I was 14 years old at the time and my memory of all this could be a bit mixed up but that's how I seem remember how that happened. Anyways the TRC-457 is the radio you want.
