So the carb obviously needs some serious love. We just slapped it all together to see what she would do. I finally found another carburetor that we will swap onto it soon. Just haven't had the time to mess with it due to all the other projects I have going on. But hopefully soon we can give it some more love before winter rolls around. Thanks for watching guys, drop a comment down below and let us know what you think !

My father bought one of these new in the early 70s; I have a photo with me riding in his lap at age 2 or so. While that machine is long gone, I recently resurrected a mid-60s version that belonged to my uncle. Really fun to use.

I just bought one of this style a few days ago from a long-since retired couple. ( Great folks by the way). I got it home and had it running in no time. They had it for many, many years. Very happy to own it. I now have 7 different models. And 5 Snapper push mowers.

I remember back in the 80's this was the everyday mans riding mower. They were popular and most everybody liked them. They're good machines.

One of the best, and longest lasting tractors ever made, hold on to it and maintain it and your son will be using it.

Jay it's nice to see all that work you put into it paid off. I wish more people would learn to fix things instead of throwing them out thinking they are done for and can't be fixed

I brought an Old Mid 70s Snapper Rear Engine Rider Back to Life in 2016 and been running it hard ever since , They are an Awesome Little mower and they will cut that tall grass really well, I learned early on with mine it works better to go over it first with the deck raised up as high as it goes and then drop it down to normal once the Tall grass is down

Nice job! Glad to see someone appreciate the older machines! As a kid a friend had an Arienz that his dad took the deck off and we ran it all through the woods like a 4 wheeler! Good ol' days! ;-)

I would love to have one of these. I have a 10 year old husqvarna with a million belt idlers for both drive and mower deck that require so much maintenance its driving me mad. These seem so much simpler

It's great that you were able to save that and repair sit to working condition. There are people out there who buy and restore those vintage mowers.

Man you got a lot of grass! My 1/4 acre is enough for me. I'd let half of that grow "natural", meaning grow as tall as it wants! Then I'd reclaim it when I get money to put up a huge garage. The bigger the better. No more sun or hail damage. And a place to work inside! or, pave it all and paint it green!

i love those old snappers super reliable cut great but the only down fall there slow and have small decks unless you have the rare 2 blade deck but still takes forever to cut a good sized yard i love my 79 but it hardly ever gets used

Them r damn good mowers worked on alot of them when we had the shop. I know on some of them the handle bar faces forward and some faceed the other way depeneding on the size of the persons gut lol.... Also u might wanta check your clutch/brake cable if its not pullling the drive disc far enough it makes it hard to shift. And another nice thing them where the first shift on the go...

Sweet. In Caroline...Anywho.,I found the deck isn't square to the ground,if one side left a bit after.I'd sharpened etc,but until I adjusted over flat area,I didn't know a 1/2" difference in a corner could leave a tract..

These older snappers ( Ive owned many) cut incredible for what they are. The path isnt wide, and the seat isnt comfy, but this thing would chop a tree down if you'd it. They are so simple and easy to work on.
