Vintage Sears Combo Stereo 

My parents got me this exact same stereo for Christmas back in the early 80s and it was so awesome, it lasted nearly 20 years and i finally wore it out , i would love to find another one just to bring back good times :) , Sears was the greatest!!!

Bought one of these for $15 today from an older couple at a garage sale, can’t believe how lucky I was!! They were happy to see it go to a good home

I loved Sears Catalogs when they had 3 tiers of quality. 1). Good, 2), Better 3). Best. Those were the days!

It just needs some contact cleaner squirted in the control pots and worked back and forth a few times to clean the oxidized volume control and switches.

Wow! I love it! I need one! I don't have a working 8-Track tape player.

Zenith Digilite stereo I’m using in my bedroom has a cool display for 1974.

Exact same model my parents had. Came with fairly-decent two-way speakers which I still have around. No Dolby, and no manual recording-level controls, but it made fairly good cassette recordings with quality normal-bias tape (unit couldn't accommodate high-bias or metal tapes). Can't speak for the eight-track unit, at least as far as recording was concerned. With the cassette deck, there was no real need to record on the eight-track unit, unless you needed tapes for your car.

All my friends had the combo units. I liked the separate components.

I think that this Sears originally was produced by third parts. All Sears catalog. Sears was a commercial society.

how do you put the record on the turntable?

What kind of speakers did I need for this type of stereo? I just got one from a resident of mines who passed away

Hi, I have a question if you read this comment. I have recently acquired this same combo. But nothing else plays on it but the record player and only at one volume. Did you have speakers or is mine broke?
