Your review made me hunt for the few I have in my collection. Not sure about the II in the name. Mine may be just Fashion... In my minds eye I see a brownish and green one, but I haven't found them yet. Love your reviews of this type of well made production pens.
I bought a set of Sheaffer White Dot Fashion II (Fountain+ Rollerball, in 2 boxes) round 20 years ago, it costed $80 at Staples. I lose the Fountain but can not find the Refill for the Rollerball, so it just keep it its original box new. It's is a nice pen. [Note: I think I gave the Fountain to my sister and she lost it while she was in UK.]
Trust me james I'll got once of that sheaffer white dot pen ages since 1979 I'll guess and its been with me a long times beside i loves pens too but this once look fantastic bcoz its covered with gold ...
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've never owned or seen a bad Sheaffer pen. I think the two most underrated brands out there are Cross and Sheaffer. Waterman may be third. When I was young, back when fountain pens weren't unusual, long. long before this current fountain pen craze, mention a fountain pen, and four brands came to mind, Cross, Parker, Waterman, and Sheaffer. They still sound magical to me. When you see a president sign a bill into law, or sign anything, really. they use a Cross pen, so you'd think Cross would get more attention. I have no idea why more people don't talk about and buy Sheaffer pens. Even Sheaffer lower end pens write like a dream, and they're certainly classier than most of the popular pens out there. A twenty dollar Sheaffer looks right at home at a business meeting. Good review, and I hope you're still using that pen in another twenty-five years.
You know, it's funny about the Cross pens. I don't have a Cross fountain pen at all, I can't really say why. I have a few Century rollerballs received as gifts, and their classic thin ballpoint and pencil sets. The rollerballs are certainly the favorites of those.
Blue greens are hard to see accurately on video, but your ink looks something like Diamine Mediterranean Blue, Monteverde Capri Blue, Iroshizuku Kon-peki-all similar shades. Robert Oster has several in that shade also, but I’m not as familiar with them.
Thank you so much for this review. I have a Sheaffer fountain pen with a white dot on the clip, that looks exactly like yours (same shape, except for the color, mine has a matte green barrel and cap). It was a gift, so I could never know its exact name. I guess mine is a Fashion II line, too?
Nicely done. I just purchased a Parker Classic from the 90s that is very similar. I like it, but the section is a little thin for me, too. Were you doing missionary work in Russia?
Yes, we were. Fascinating time to be there, having grown up during the Cold War. I sometimes think we got a decade of experiences in just under 2 years.
@@JG3Reviews Thanks for your service. I've been to Moscow and Bryansk on mission trips to help with some church planting projects. Love your reviews. You're easy to listen to. And I love that the pens you review are modestly priced ones! ;)
I have one which I bought in 1998 whichl says: Gold electroplated Sheaffer USA around the cap. The clip broke some years ago so I contacted Sheaffer customer service who mailed me a new cap and included a spare barrel for free!
