This line of receivers sounds exceptional when properly tuned up/restored. Your unit looks amazing for 50 years of making music...parties, etc. Thank you for your time.
I repaired a 727 recently for someone. I saw someone in Council Bluffs sold a 939 a couple months ago for $200. I see someone trying to flip it for $600.
Love these.. wondering if there is any way to get the white lettering on the black buttons back to white ?? I'd be more inclined to look for one if i knew the lettering could be succesfully cleaned up. I did my dad's 737, which doesn't have those buttons. Love the 737 too but I'd like to restore a larger one.
Assuming you don’t need quad sound and the 939 is in good working and cosmetic condition, I don’t think you would regret the upgrade. If/when the QR needs work you will end up paying a bit more in parts/labor since it’s a quad. Plus I think the 939 has a more balanced look to it aesthetically.
@@millervintagehifi3034the Sansui is my first vintage receiver and I love the sound it reproduces but can’t help to wonder how the pioneer sounds and why not just have both right lol. There’s a couple of 939 near me on marketplace going to try and score one this weekend. thanks for the reply
