Thank you so much! I fell for this fabric the moment i saw it. The purple tones are so warm. I've had it in my stash over a year trying to decide the best use for it as i didn't want to waste it on something i wouldn't wear a lot.
I know when I'm learning myself its the things I do wrong that stick in my brain the most. It can also be disheartening when you make mistakes but seeing other people make them makes you feel less of a beginner. Nobody is perfect and i think thats good to see.
Unfortunately the pattern is self drafted from my own custom blocks. However I've just done a quick search for some commercial sewing patterns of a similar shape. You could combine the bodice Section off the Nina Lee Camden Dress www.ninalee.co.uk/shop/camden-pdf-sewing-pattern/ and the Charm Patterns Circle Skirt which is free on their website charmpatterns.com/shop/charm-circle-skirt. It would be a reasonably close outcome. Hope this helps.

You could certainly experiment with a hard fabric. It will stand more stiffly in the skirt, like a natural petticoat. You may sacrifice some comfort and movement especially around the waist. It will be a great impact though and exciting to see!
