Crews are cleaning up a mess after a violent crash Saturday morning May 27, 2017. The crash reportedly happened just before 9:00am near the corner of Arleta and Filmore. Firefighters were forced to use "The-Jaws-of-Life" to rescue the driver of a white sedan. Police say that driver was heading southbound on Arleta when he collided head on with a red SUV before the white sedan crashed into several parked cars nearby. The driver of the SUV was also taken to the hospital. Both driver's conditions are unknown. No other injuries were reported. The bomb squad was called to detonate an unexploded airbag that fell off one of the cars.

I love how the baby (yes I still call them babies, even though some are wise beyond their years) wouldn't let the interviewers question change his opinion of driving, even after the 2nd time asking. He stuck with his true opinion. I LOVE that. I hope he doesn't lose that trait and still keeps his calm, mature manner. We need more of it.

People forget, vehicles can be deadly weapons just like firearms. And you don't have a right to drive a vehicle, it is a privilege.

That's NOT head on, that is an offset Tbone and the damage to that Passat , one of them had to have been driving Quite Fast.

In case y'all don't know the airbag is loaded with a small amount of what amounts to dynamite. My husband had an old one that goes under the steering wheel once and we took it out on the mesa and he put it under an old hubcap and after we took cover he set it off. That hubcap blew about 100 ft in the air!! They are nothing to play around with!!

They also hurt like hell when they smack in face in a wreck. So no there not to be messed with airbags hurt like hell . I had to have 24 stitches in my mouth top& bottom lip

This is slum langue everywhere, USA, UK, I pick my daughter up on this. I may be a bit crazy and challenged her on this. Friendly advice, be subtle and perhaps make her to try to have a conversation without like, liked.

Hmmm, nice windscreen on this mic, sadly I only hear one channel on this one, but it's still nice. Must been a few different people that go out covering accidents/events, I'm guessing.

+Benjamin Esposti Airbags are deployed by a chemical charge. Outside of the extremely strong fitting for it inside a vehicle it can and will go off like a bomb and setting one off doesn't take much of an electrical charge. An airbag can flip an average size car over without any difficulty at all...

You seem to lack the common sense to realize how dangerous an airbag can be. They can kill smaller kids, smother adults, break your collar bones, shoulders, etc... They aren't to be messed around with.

I didn’t know that about airbags. That’s crazy how they work. If I’m ever in a car accident, I just hope mine deploys and doesn’t fall off.

@@alex.gomez.1117 It's not something I've ever heard of happening before. I was aware it was a theoretical possibility though. The previous history of the vehicle the airbag came from will make some interesting reading for one of the investigators as this sort of thing is very much not supposed to happen. Some workshops may be having to answer some very searching questions...

I’m gonna go out on a limb here & say the white car is, um, TOTALED. “Last name, please?” “S-m-i . . . T-AYTCH.” “Do you think speed was a factor?” Officer Smi-T-AYTCH barely suppresses a half-laugh, half-snort. For real, how cool is that guy? 🥶 Maybe things would be better if more law enforcement officers were like him.
