Fun 4 minute interview! Maestro Perlman is such a salt of the earth guy. PBS "American Masters" did a 90 min. episode on Perlman two years ago, and it's really worth seeing: www.pbs.org/video/itzhak-otldjz/ (however, it expires on 09/30/2020, so watch it ASAP!)

i wouldn't ask this, but i'd like to see someone ask him - "how would your career have been different if you hadn't contracted polio?". probably wouldn't have been much different, obviously it didn't affect his upper body. seems like there may have been psychological differences which could have affected his manner of playing a bit. anyway, we're all lucky he is the kind of person that was able to overcome his challenges to give us a lifetime of beautiful fiddling playing.
