@@BOOSTEDLASER - I did. And it sure is a beast, even though I prefer the design of the Grasso Bolo III and Parang. But my wife won't let me use the JA-NAP nor any other heavy knife while we have a newborn child in our family ... so that video has been put on hold for now.

I bought the sheep’s foot version of this blade after watching your video to carry at work. What a powerhouse of a cutting tool. Truly exceptional. Not as comfortable in the hand for me as it seemingly is for others, but the function easily makes me forget that! Now I want another fixed blade pocket knife! Fallkniven KK? Thanks for the great reviews!

Gotta compare it with the MKM Makro. I have the Makro 1 and it was like Sophie's choice between that and this one. I'm still not sure. I like the thickness of both the Makro and the Berus. I find myself prying with a knife far more often than I should. I don't like the clip for the sheath though, I'd replace it with normal loops. The sheath rattle is the only thing that scared me off, though I don't think there's any way it'll come out when you don't want it to. The MKM sheath I thought was gimmicky and knew that I'd want to replace it… it's one of those times where I'm actually happy that I was SO wrong. The sheath is awesome, I love the magnetic loop. It's the most versatile sheath I've owned, but it is a different type of sheath. I'd love to get one made for my Lionsteel M1.

I'm working on my Makro 1 & 2 FULL REVIEW-VIDEO right now. I def. prefer the Makro-knives over the Mikro-knives, and I also prefer the Makro-knives over the Berus-knives. There will be a segment in my full review-video comparing the Makro 1 & 2 with the Berus 1 & 2. I think that the sheath for the Makro (and Mikro) are quite nice, but tbh, I would prefer a kydex for them (which is now actually available, although sold separately). I will say, however, that I prefer the Makro and Mikro leather sheath over the Berus kydex sheaths, due to the rattle-issue(s). Overall, and without spoiling the upcoming video-review, I can say that the Makro 1 & 2 really are awesome knives - that actually took me quite by surprise. They sure hit a sweet spot for me, personally. I'm even thinking of picking up an extra 1 and 2 in Carbon Fiber (the two I got are both Green Canvas Micarta, to match my Mikro-set).

@@PinkG10it's definitely good to do a comparison, I honestly think it'll be the ONLY one in RU-vid. There is a video from Neeves that shows both but it's more of a presentation than a "shootout" video. A Makro vs Berus would have been extremely helpful to me before I bought, and probably will be even after. Like I said, the MKM sheath is versatile, but definitely in a diff way than Kydex is because it's good for carry options that are completely different than Kydex. Kydex I carry in scout or front cross draw. I can put the leather in my belt loop for a side horizontal or vertical (though I wouldn't carry it vertically), or in your waistband. You can throw it in your pocket or sock, and in large jacket pockets where it would normally fall to the bottom and sit sideways. I always carry mine in the sleeve of my coat in the winter. It's not for any weapon reason, I just use a knife for everything and it's a pain to have to unzip my coat to reach behind me to get it in a scout carry. With Kydex id thread Paracord through the holes and leave several inches hanging from the tip of the case. I'd hold the cord and put the knife up my sleeve, leaving the cord loose, then keep the end of the cord at the cuff. When I need it I'd pull it out from the cord. The MKM I just stick it in and pass the loop over the cuff and the magnet holds it in place. I saw their Kydex, it seems expensive for how thin it seems, but I could be wrong. I'll keep an eye out for them video 👍I subscribed so I'll know when you do it.

@@PinkG10 It was difficult to decide between the drop point and sheep's foot. I generally prefer drop point, but I liked the MKM sheep's foot because it was more like a reverse tanto compared to the Berus 2 which was more traditional. I went with the drop point. I feel better hearing that you have both and prefer the MKM.

The Viper 1 is one of my biggest surprises this year - THAT is how much I like it! The Viper 2 is nice and all, but in honesty I got it mostly to have a matching pair, knowing that I'm not the biggest fan of sheepfoot-designs. The Viper 1 is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I can't believe I didn't get one earlier ...

I mean ... what can I say? :p I like high quality bladed tools, and I like sharing them with you guys! Some of my knives and axes are a bit nische, some of them def. not for everyone, but what you see in this video, is a knife that to me is a must-have. I should have made it more clear in the video how much I like the Berus 1, but believe me, I will be very clear on that in my full review-video. This is the kind of knife i feel like I can't live without now, lol! And I rarely say that about knives, nor axes. So, to the shop for me too, need to get a back-up one! :)

I spoke with you a week or two ago in the comment section saying you should do a comparison with the MKM Makro, you said were going to be doing one. I have the Makro, but stressed for a few weeks over whether to get the Makro or this one, and went with the Makro. Well, I couldn't hold off so I ordered the Berus 1. I had it in my possession for a day, and sent it back the next. The problems were half from the retailer, and half the manufacturer (though that might also be the retailer). I ordered it in black G10, they sent green micarta. That wasn't really a big deal, I wanted black but I could have lived with the green micarta. The complaints about the sheath are pretty dead on: it somehow is able to rattle around like it fits loosely, while at the same time requiring a lot of effort to draw it from the sheath. Still, neither of those were deal breakers since I could make adjustments for both issues. The "Ulti clip" has to be up there for the most useless, least versatile sheath mounting systems ever thought up for molded rigid sheaths. The only thing it's really good for is if you want to keep the knife in your pocket, where it will serve a function similar to a pocket clip on a folder. You can put it on your belt, but only if you want to carry it in the traditional vertical position, and who wants to do that with a little knife like this. I carry a shoulder sling type bag that has molle attachment, this can't be used with them. Wherever you want to put this on has to have at least an inch clearance for the lever to clear to lock it into place. That still wasn't that big of an issue since I have a few pairs of loops that I would use. My issue was the grind. I'm used to seeing knives with uneven bevels, it's a common thing. I'm not used to seeing them on knives that average $150 though. Upon really looking at it I discovered it wasn't just the bevel though, the entire grind was uneven, which isn't just something that can be addressed. I mean I guess it could, if I didn't mind evening the grind myself…on a brand new knife. TBH I kind of expected it. The site I bought it from had the black G10 and green micarta selling for $20 less than the rest, and those were the cheapest I found. I never bought from this place before so I went online to make sure it wasn't some fly by night scam, all the forums checked out. After I bought it though I kept thinking "I hope this isn't a factory second." I didn't see that listed anywhere but I know that happens a lot on Amazon when you find something considerably cheaper than other places (I didn't buy it from Amazon though). I don't know if what I found was something that you'll find typically on their knives, or if it was the retailer. They said I could return it with no issues, they provided a prepaid shipping label so at least they weren't trying to pull one over. We'll see how the second one comes. On the upside: they ship through the US priority Mail, which I wish every seller did. They shipped it out from Virginia on a Saturday and it showed up on Monday in Massachusetts. If that had been FedEx or UPS it wouldn't have shown up until Friday the earliest. Plus the tracking from the other two isn't very accurate, especially FedEx. I've had the tracking number show it still being at the first shipping location after it was delivered. Priority Mail is super accurate.
