Do you have an s&s on a virago? If so which one, I'm using one of the original carburetors converted to single on my 700 virago, I would like to install an s&s
This could be the same fake Mikuni I have, except mine's a VM34. Was your problem with Mikuni main jets not fitting, that the thread on the needle jet (where the main jet screws onto) is too small? if so, you should just re thread it. I did so and now genuine Mikuni jets fit fine.
After almost a year now, I still have the stock jets and it runs great. I pull the plugs and clean them every once in a while. I could go a little leaner but an air-cooled bike in Florida, I'd rather have too much than not enough.
How are your plugs looking mine are black but runs as good as yours the guy from Lithuania that sells these intake recommends a 25 pilot 155 main I put a 25 pilot and 160 main I'm still rich but I can go down I have alot of jets
Plugs are definitely black but haven't fouled yet. I ordered mine from the same guy but got the knockoff carb. I'm looking to find a good replacement carburetor.
@@searchingforskunkape6170 I ordered a genuine mikuni from Amazon and also summit I have two viragos with same intake both were around 110 each on Amazon make sure it says genuine mikuni if it's 50 or less it's not a mikuni lol but yeah my 700 burns clean I have hotter plugs ngk bpr5es and 52 pilot needle on step lean above middle 220 main my 750 I'm trying to get dialed in
The carb came with a 40 pilot and 250 main. It could probably go a little leaner on both. Gas mileage reduced but the fun increased. You might want to pick up some fender washers for the intake bolts, the flanges are slotted.
@BP15 I replaced my vacuum petcock for a gravity one a while back. It can be found here: www.amazon.com/PETCOCK-VALVE-ASSEMBLY-YAMAHA-VIRAGO/dp/B07D4KFZQX The only problem is it points to the rear of the bike. The intake may have to be tapped for a vacuum line.
@borna9842 The cable itself wasn't long enough. I had to cut the end off, cut some of the sheathing, and solder the end back on. Removed the return cable completely.
