My first trip across the Atlantic this year, and it starts on a brand new aircraft which was only delivered to Virgin in late 2022! This would mark my first time onboard an A330 NEO. I have to say the aircraft itself was brilliant and still had that new smell to it. Virgin did a tremendous job with the cabin too, the seats were comfortable with good legroom and good ife screens. This turned out to be yet another great flight with Virgin Atlantic
We start off at London Heathrow's Terminal 3. Once pushed back we taxied to 27L for a departure across Wales and out towards the Atlantic. Within 20 minutes or so after take off the crew then commenced the first of many services with a light snack and drink. About 20 minutes later the dinner service began with a choice of either mac n cheese or Chicken tikka masala. I decided to opt for the pasta dish this time having already had the tikka masalla on my previous Virgin flight last year. It was nicer than it looked. Anyway after that the crew then came round with more drinks before leaving us for a little while. After 4 hours of flight we made landfall again over New Brunswick in Canada where we then followed the North American coastline down to Florida. Along the way we get to see some views of NYC, Long Island, Norfolk VA and so on. Our descent then took us over Fort Lauderdale and the north of Miami before heading out across the Everglades and beginning our final approach to Runway 08R.
Overall this was a great flight with Virgin Atlantic, I thoroughly enjoyed my first time on an A330 NEO.
