Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner ‘Premium Economy’ - Great food, broken seat! 

This was really helpful and loved the fact it was all about the service and not just a person with a selfie stick showing nothing but their face.

The video was really good, but the running commentary was very Douglas Adams like, it was perfect! It was also very useful as I am going to be flying VA in a couple months in Premium Economy and wasn't sure what to expect.

Rich - I've thoroughly enjoyed all of your cruise videos that I have watched to date. Especially now in this strange time of not having a vacation to look forward to. As we all, for the most part, need to travel by plane to a cruise port destination, I appreciate you taking the time to review your travel arrangements as well. I vote for more of this in the future for your future vacations.

I generally fly Premium Economy on VA to London from Miami (my home) and have always had good results. Having worked for airlines in the 80’s, I got spoilt traveling up front. I don’t sleep very well on planes, so the extra space is always welcome. It’s possible that VA doesn’t serve nuts as snacks because of people with severe allergies. An expat watching in FL.

Brilliant review! We are flying Upper Class for the first time on Virgin or as I call it “Excelsior Maximus Class” A330-200 in April and A330-300 in May if the world gets back to “Normal”! Can’t wait!! I will try out my best James Earl Jones voice over if I do a review. ✈️ subscribed. 🚨UPDATE🚨 due to the ongoing pandemic we have pushed back our departure until October and it’s A330-300 both ways!!!

Thanks for posting about your experience in Virgin's Premium Economy. I'll be flying them LHR-SEA in PE next month. I've flown Virgin 7 times - not 7 roundtrips, but 7 flights - all in Upper Class, so this next trip will be a new experience for me. my only concern about flying PE is whether the seat is comfortable. The seats are thin and don't look comfortable. Virgin is my favorite airline.

This is an excellent fully comprehensive review and had me giggling throughout 😂😂😂 Totally love the analysis whilst helping me make decision to try and upgrade again (rate permitting) If i get the bloody chance before my flight in a few weeks. I currently hold a Delight ticket to the states due to fly in a few weeks and I was offered £200 for the upgrade to premium a few weeks back and now its £1200. Im kicking myself daily....not sure if it will go down and after seeing both reviews im quite happy where i am but that extra 2 inches is a deal breaker for me. Recline is paramount for my comfort 😁 Medicinal calf stretches 😂😂 (actually handy for me) Passive aggressive territorial scrub in the economy carriage. That was hilarious 😂 Thank you for another brilliant review! Well worth subscription!

Great video, very informative. We loved VA Premium economy, very spacious, delicious food and great service. We thought it was excellent value for money. Really hoping Virgin Atlantic survive the current economic problems and don't go the way of Virgin Australia.

Just some banal observations to make a comment for the sake of your Google algorithm. 1) I dislike these marketing names where I have to decide whether "Economy delight" or "Economy Premium" is better. My first thought is that past Premium is Delight. 2) I tend to not pass up an opportunity to be snide, so I would say that having airplanes designed by people who have designed airplanes before seemed to work out better than having cruise ships designed by people who have not designed a cruise ship before. :-) 3) Today, Branson said that Virgin Atlantic can't survive without government help. But I am sure they had bigger issues than you flying on them. :-)

Great video. Many thanks for it. Just to say that no airline should offer nuts on board now due to the vast number of allergy sufferers. Much easier to simply give everyone an alternative, hence pretzels. Probably cheaper too. Thanks again.

The 787-9 is a great aircraft however the version 10 im not sure about as I belive it uses software like the 737/max.

How much did the upgrade cost? In deluxe it was 100 you said.

Many thanks for this Rich. Very interesting comparison between economy delight (ED) and premium (PE). We're interested in the price difference. Not perhaps the actual $$$'s but probably more useful to know ratio. e.g ED 1 PE 2.5, meaning PE was 2.5 times the price. Is that possible? We're flying to LA next year to join a Celebrity Cruise ship to do the Panama Canal and so this would help our planning. Thanks again for all your videos which are so enjoyable and information packed.

Given all the cruises you take, even in Grill Class on Cunard, and other travels, it would seem to me that you do, in fact, have a pretty “fat, care free wallet”. Most people out there in the world can’t pleasure travel as much as you do!
