Viridor Materials Recycling Facility - MRF 

I recycle all my food waste except a tiny volume of bones, skin and fat from meat and fish and seeds from fruit and veg (my compost doesn't get hot enough to sterilise them). I generally throw out one bag of general rubbish every three weeks (it used to be one) and its mostly un-recyclable plastic wrappings. At the same time I put a box of kitchen recyclables is the big black recycle bins. Every few months I also add a box of non-kitchen recyclables (mostly paper).

Wondering, what happens when items like yoghurt pots/food cans don't get washed. How are they cleaning/sterilising them or those just get selected and thrown out?

Video doesn't show recycling, only sorting. We don't know how much is recycled.

So, it's recycled in the UK? Or do you sell it to overseas where they need to use oil/fossil fuelled ships to get it there and then the same to get the recycled products back??

And then what happens to it?

its a shame viridor have to keep sacking their staff for dishonesty.
