Visions Booster Box Opening = Sometimes you just have to go back in time 

The art on these old cards is just amazing, i don't know why, but the old cards look so much more interesting and unique than those released now.

Part of the excitement of opening old packs is seeing all the different styles of art. Today, everything is pretty much the same.

No Mythics No Crappy art No Colored Rarity Symbols No Greenscreen Pure Rudy.

At GP Vegas saturday, my wife stops me and says, "Hey, its that guy you watch, Dirty Randy or something." I think hell yeah, lets watch whats hes up to. He leans over to the side to grab a pack looks up, winks at my wife. She is not disappointed.

This set is as old as me and I still feel nostalgic for it, damn. Such pretty art.

I say always take your time when opening classic boosters. It's great to look back at the old cards and you never know just how many unopened boosters of those old sets are actually left out in the wild. Not many, I would think. Relish these moments.

visions is one of my favorite old sets. The art of Ian Miller is all over it. That guy is just amazing. The set has a unique feel to it.

Amazing art all throughout, but that Undo and Mundungu art by Terese Nielsen is just ridiculous - completely next level. Stumbling across her cards from two decades ago is always such a joy. To this day, her artwork always stands out from all other cards in a pack. Those vertical lines on King Cheetah are so trippy...

I had to stop and watch this later so i could fully comprehend the beauty of old magic Thanks rudy, now i'm gonna go spend the better part of a day on gatherer looking through sets i never got to play in :'(

Nice video. Now, though the copyright year is 1996, Visions was released in early 1997. I remember the Inquest with Archangel on the cover from when the set was new. Flanking is quite fun.

My aunt bought me 8 boosters as a gift from my birthday when I was a kid: packs were if I remember 2 from VIsions, 2 weatherlight, 2 Fifth Edition and 2 from Stronghold, it was magical back then.

They couldn't think of a name for what ended up Kyscu Drake, so they made an anagram of "sucky".

"That seems kind of strong" Quiron Ranger was one of the best commons in the set and was used a *lot* in quality decks to get multiple uses out of BoP or assorted "tim" type creatures. One of those decks would be able to play all game (and kick your ass) and never have more than 3 lands in play.

Quirion ranger is a hit, worth a lot, very strong and versatile. It does mana ramp.

I remember that Rainbow Efreet was a big deal back then, and i played with Three Wishes, those where the days.

Made me realized how lucky to get two Tutors in the few packs I bought. ahh good memories

Th Sand of Time and Equipoise combo broke the pro-tour that those cards were first printed in fyi.

Rudy! I run Quirion Ranger in my Yisan, the Wanderer Bard EDH deck and it is very stong! I combine that with Scyb Ranger and Seeker of Skybreak and I have all the untap power!

Just bought close to 300 dollars of reserve list singles on CK using the affiliate link. Like a grand so far. Antiquities, Unlimited, revised (only when UN cards in NM aren't available) Alliances, and all 3 URZA's blocks are what I've been fondest of, though. Wasn't around at the beginning. I Quit MTG in 2000 after only playing in 6th grade bc i was too young to appreciate or really just understand the game. Only had like 1 friends that played it. Just getting back into it since the summer 2018' at age 29 as of 12/15/18... I've bought strictly reserve list singles from Card Kingdom, only in NM condition, and then booster packs of Alliance's and URZA's from only established sellers on ebay. Ive been on ebay for over a decade, so quite attune on how to choose the right sellers. So far every pack passes the eye test after a good WIGGLE AND TIGGLE. YES , I SAID WIGGLE AND TIGGLE.... Thanks for the term Rudy ; ) If they were repacked all this time when I go to sell them in 20+ years, so be it. I got them lying flat in Ziplock bags and stored in a cool dark place. People want the sealed product. Ill have it. LONG LIVE THE RESERVE LIST!! and S.W.A.G: Silver , Wine, Art, Gold... Not a wine drinker but its about tangible wealthy. And old art MTG cards ARE art. Giggity! Im might buy a box of original Innistrad and Zendikar

Quirion Ranger is a 2 dollar common because it's a combo piece in one of pauper's most powerful decks right now.

I spent the entire video waiting for Viashivan Dragon.

I'm commenting 3 years after the video came out: 1) The style of Rudy's videos hasn't changed in the last 3 years. 2) The packs are sorted so that the uncommons are at the front with the Rare being the 4th card in from the top of the pack. Rudy had it all wrong.

FYI: in visions packs the first 3 cards are uncommon, the fourth card is the rare and the rest are all commons

kaerveks spite has been errata'd to mean "As an additional cost to playing kaerveks spite, sacrifice all permanents you control and discard your hand. Target player loses 5 life." it absolutely sucks butt and i don't blame anyone for not remembering it.

The first rare was Righteous War! I used to love to build decks around that one :/

Dunno if anyone has already said but; top 3 cards per pack appear to be uncommons and 4th is the rare. Rest are commons.

just had flashbacks to when the mall a block away from me was affordable enough to rent out spaces and had a card/comic store, good times grabbing visions packs and playing sealed games. makes me wish Wizards had a non insane business model for mtgo, 40 a month for loaded all you can play mtgo and I could call up my friend who's now a bio chemist engineer or something out in NJ and get him to get hooked to magic again. I spoke to hin about magic a couple years ago and when he heard the model for mtgo, he just stopped remembering magic and stopped thinking about it. He said if it was more like a one time payment for getting to try out all the cards he'd be interested but I think his losing to his older brother playing power 9 and stasis has him not caring about playing. Anyways, good shit.
