NC is so beautiful, I have been for a few trips and have seen a bit but not nearly enough! I bought a new D.R. Horton home in Garner NC, and plan on seeing everything.
Great video, Mark. I'd also throw in......Charlotte: Carowinds Theme Park and U.S. National Whitewater Center. Wilmington: Carolina Beach State Park and Ft. Fisher. Asheville: Biltmore Estate. NC is one of my favorite states in the nation. Stunningly beautiful and a pretty affordable place to live. Just love it!

I live in eastern NC. It's nice but there is no work. Over here by the beaches are very expensive & better for visiting unless you already have money. Chimney Rock is beautiful. We went camping there this summer. The people are much more friendlier. If you go to the Kitty Hawk area, beware, the people are not as welcoming of visitors & drive horribly. But yes, North Carolina is pretty.
IF I found a job in Asheville, I would've moved. I now live in Denton, TX. Which is almost perfect. Good economy and middle-class. Artsy and cheap. Fucking flat, though. No hiking culture.
The official state song is an old, old song called "The Old North State." Much better known is James Taylor's "Carolina in My Mind."
