One of the most epic RU-vid series ever. Still wearing my Plane Savers T shirt with pride. Remember the joy when Joe took DCD skywards for the first time after the restoration! Glad she is in good condition, she deserves to be around for anorher 85 years!
Wow, almost 3 years ago. Miss the daily episodes and progress. Can’t wait to see her fly again. Also looking forward to 737. That’ll solve any avgas problems.
Hey Micky I’ve live in Olds just south of Red Deer. I have stopped by a couple of times and taken a picture of DTD through the fence. I watched every episode of Plane Savers. It was a remarkable thing you did for her. You all should be very proud. I’m a bit of an airplane geek and love coming to the airport to see planes. I used to fly back in the 80’s but had to give it up when kids came along.
Not going to lie, that got me a little emotional. Can’t even begin imagine what kind of feelings you have seeing her. Like others, that was such an amazing series. So much fun to watch and really feel like us viewers were involved. Really miss your videos. Thanks for sharing.
So awesome remembering back to the anticipation of each episode to see DTD come to life. It should be part of the Canadian Freedom movement. Thanks Mikey 🍻
DTD was there, and done that...and that is significant Canadian history. There must be an aviation museum that would cherish having DTD with it's story in their collection?
That hangar is just so full of cool stuff! The bell helo, the boatplanes! I love those water bombers. Never been close to one but I've flown on a PBY before. Just awesome. Good to see DTD as well. Watching the revival helped me pass the time during my last deployment.
Nice to see and meet the Buffalo gang and DTD... The newspaper in the video was from my city (Thunder Bay) when DTD made a pit stop here on the way to Oshkosh.... It would be nice to see DTD again.....
Lovley to see shes ok and shes gonna fly again. Its time the fleet of Buffalo are given to musuems either donated or Put up for sale and allow, everything to survive. The DC-4s and Electras really need to be saved. The dakotas that don't fly anymore too so no propliners are lost. Over thr past years all these aircraft have declined away from the scene and either are scrapped or lost in crashes. Even the Convairliners that have been acquired should be given to musuems. And Buffalo should come up with a historic flight that the propliners are saved to appear at airshows so, atleast they make abit of a fund as everyone love to see these in a formation
Hello there, nice to see you again. Nice to see both Ronnie and Joe to. 4 more Convairs? 4 more planes to put on my list of all planes I know around Buffalo and your family. I got 99 planes, helicopters...and fuselages on my list, but I know in a Live stream someone say Bfl / Joe have over 100 planes....or saying something similar..... Mikey and Stella, what about a (special) episode just about all the planes around Buffalo. Even all the planes you never talk about...what about to show us the Aeronca? :) And I think many will be happy to see the 6.
I still remember everyone saying it won't happen and I wasn't sure...... but when Ronnie looked around and said she'll fly. That's when I knew she'd fly.
I will never forget getting to see DTD at EAA's AirVenture several years ago. I did a walk trough, took photos, and even shook your hand. We watched the nighttime airshow and fireworks from her port side. Cool to see her again!
Miss seeing you guys! Great to see the old war birds flying still! Thank you Bùffalo Airways for doing what you do. Have a diecast of one of the DC-3's & a DC-4 just don't remember the registration numbers.
It never ceases to impress me how skilled and talented everyone is that has worked on that beautiful bird. Knowing she’s going to be flying passengers and crew is the ultimate way to pay respects to her and it speaks to the entire staff at Buffalo that she will be part of an impressive fleet of awesome aircraft serving the people who live throughout Northern Canada. Congrats.

She's still a beaut! She is raring to go! Thank you, Mikey. Keep up the great work, fantastic stuff!
I miss seeing her as I drive by the airport in St. Hubert, Quebec nearly every day (YHU). But I remember saying to my friends travelling with me, she'll fly again if somebody really wants her to. You guys provided the expertise and the TLC ; I wish I could have seen her fly away.
Welcome back. It was awesome watching DTD come back to life, and it’s incredible how long ago that was. I watched avidly, it was the best TV at the time.
Looking at this aircraft, this is one thing I would really like to see before I kick the bucket so to speak. When the first video of the state of this thing was shown and Mikey went over DTD, I was convinced she was a lost cause... But as we all progressed along, and everyone involved, those with us today and those who are not... It is all consolidated memories in one aircraft back from the dead. And taking her for a flight is the perfect way to blow away the Covid as she even survived that one as well.
I prefer the registration CF-DTD I flew on dtd to frobisher Bay when I was 10 and to fort chimo when I was 14 .my dad used to call her the double breasted cub , thanks for taking care of old (dog tare dog )😊
My wife and I were there in June 2019 to see it fly. We met you, Stella, your dad, uncle Ronnie and your mom. My wife really liked your mom. It was so great to see a beautiful piece of history brought back to life! I still think about that day.
Loved watching the restoration of DTD, but now really excited seeing the Convairs in the background. After working 45 years in Aviation, my fondest memories are spending 18 of those years working on the old 580’s.
Somebody else has already said it but I too was wondering about DTD and what was happening. Nice to see the update Thankyou Mikey for keeping us in the loop and is greatly appreciated
So great to see her again! The ol' girl looks fantastic! Someday I hope to see DTD in real life -- and I'm glad you took us to visit her. Gotta admit, I got a little misty eyed. I don't know why I stay subscribed to a channel that makes me cry. :) But seriously, thank you!
Thanks for the video Mikey I had the pleasure to check her out when she had a brief stay in Thunder Bay took my grandson to see her he loved it and asked if he could go for a ride, followed all the videos of you guys reviving her good to see it again and hope to see her again some day.
I live by the old municipal airport now Museum here in Yeg and I have seen the giant yellow Float plane about 10 million times every single day of my life. only today i was out there looking at it up close and I saw it was a Buffalo Airways Noorduyn Norseman V CF-HPY and even said Yellowknife on it underneath. all of these years I had no idea. I immediately laughed out loud and thought of you when I noticed.
Thanks for the update Mikey! It was an incredible journey by an incredible group of people! Didn't miss an episode throughout the whole build--truly one of the best things ever to happen on RU-vid!
What a blast that was! From the start all the way to the Dday flight! To seeing & actually looking at DTD in Edmonton meeting you & the family Mikey that was fun and what a concert! & the Icing on the cake was meeting & watching Bruce Dickinson take off Piloting DTD to Calgary what a great experience Ty Mikey! 😉 Cheers & a hello to the family Luv&Peace Sean&family🤝🏼
Great video, would be great to see more videos....we all love your content. Appreciate you are busy though, but we are just greedy and want more ! 😀 thanks Micky
We're all so fortunate to have such a great filmmaker and a great personality to invite us into this wonderful world of aviation. Thank you so much, Mikey.
This made me very happy this morning. Thank you, Mikey. It's also great to see everybody happy and healthy. I will watch out for news about when she might fly again, and maybe I can get out there. It would be a couple of days drive, but that isn't too bad if I get to see DTD, you, your dad, and Ronny. All the best.
