Brian Donaldson - Thanks for taking the time to comment. It’s definitely an experience that puts a lot into perspective. It’s really hard to explain the feeling you get from visiting Auschwitz. It’s emotionally intense and tolling - Thanks for sharing your experience.

I visited Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1973. It was a grey day, but it was spring, and here and there along the fences I saw forsythia blooming. There were no huge crowds, certainly no tour buses. I walked alone and was simply stunned by what I saw. When I left I was nearly shut down, unable to cry, barely able to face what I had witnessed. It took years for me to truly feel the horror and the grief. Now I cry about it easily. And I am crying now. Thank you for your excellent, thoughtful work.

Oh my goodness; you have created something wonderful. Without words but through your excellent filming and beautifully poignant music, you have conveyed the true horror of this place where unspeakable crimes against humanity took place. I went there in 2014, will never, ever forget how I felt and your film reminded of that just now. Thank you very much.

This has to be the best production I have watched about Auschwitz, from @, you never uttered another word, but your film gave us thousands. For such despicable history, your choice of music gave it warmth and comfort, dignity and true respect. Have visited 3 Nazi death camps, two in Germany and Stuttoff in Poland, its very well preserved. Thanks for keeping the dead alive Tom, this film has given them a voice one again.

I have cried a million tears watching these videos, and I'm certain I cry a million more because for all this pain in my heart for what history did to those innocent people, justice can't be served and things can't be made right for the dead. Great historical video. I appreciate that there was no talking. A visit to Aushwitz should be a somber experience. This place was the epicenter of the worst that humanity and hate had to offer. This place Is hallowed ground , history and most importantly. A warning. As much as I would like to visit. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to make the trip. So I certainly appreciate those that have visited and document their experience. Everyday we loose more survivors and eyewitness’s. With the current political and social environment trends today. This history needs to be carried forward so it never happens again. Everyone has certain biases and left unchecked or worse, organized. This will happen again.

There is a much darker side to Oswiencim. That no one explores. My parents escaped to Canada in 92 caus they could not handle it. Our family house back in Kielce has a triple basement. It’s how my family got rich. They offered safety to Jews in exchange for their valuables. Once the basements were full they hid the valuables and called the ss to empty the basements (to make room for the next wave of desperate people). I was not born til 82 so what my family did I can not answer for or be responsible for. I am shamed for what not only my family but many did.

When I stood on the ramp, looking back towards the gatehouse, I did a 360 degrees turn, I was shocked at the size of the complex, and the amount of people that must have been crammed into the camp. Going there certainly diminished my problems into nothingness. Every thing makes you stop and think, the enormity of what the Nazi party did to all those people is breath taking and must never be forgotten. Half my family comes from Vienna, which was annexed in 1938 in the Anschluss. My Grandma hated Hitler and at war’s end stated she was glad her daughter had married a nice English boy and not a Nazi! One story mum told me was that my Oma knew a Jewish family who lived in the neighbourhood. They was home as usual after curfew, early next morning they were gone from their flat. Everything was gone. They never returned, no one ever heard from them again. Heaven knows what they went trough! I liked your film, very informative, thanks for posting.

For me it's the best museum I've visited, no competition. Of course I'm talking about the way the history is presented. It's absolutely unbiased and left for itself to speak. There was soooo much room for manipulation, but there's none of it. By the way, there are two Auschwitz camps: the one with "Arbeit…" is Auschwitz I, and the one with the train and a tower is Auschwitz II. Remember this when you an to visit, because most people run out of energy (and emotional capacity) in the first one.

I'm sure many healers have gone through quietly and even at a distance done healing on the place. Also, most victims would have passed on because of their faith in more after life and angelic beings help even a bound soul heal to then be able to move on without another living humans intervention. Very few people will be so stuck to refuse any guidance subconsciously and consciously after such a long time and in these cases then they may be karmatically lead to a high energy living human being who can help them as they are often able to be more aware of these people than their angels.

My biggest memory was being alone in several places including the entrance to the destroyed gas chambers (2 and 3), the remains of Krema 4 and 5, in the back corner (again, no one around me), Block 11 at the main camp (stood in the "standing cells") and the death wall or shooting wall outside Block 11. Am I the only one who feels rather uneasy about watching these videos from places like Auschwitz . History , especially that of man's cruelty to others has to be kept alive but I just think visits to these awful places should be kept as ones silent reflection on the horrific things that happened there . It is obvious that a great effort is taken by many people , when they try to document their visit , to be very respectful but it chills me to see the obvious " no photography " signs posted in some rooms that are ignored . I fear in the age of social media and a change in people's values that these places of horror are becoming just another tourist attraction instead of a place of silent , reflective pilgrimage . I question myself for even viewing so I am as guilty as anyone . Tom obviously went to great lengths to be respectful , the video shows that with no commentary so this is by no means a criticism of his video more of a view of how these places are falling into a tourist attraction to many . When I look at the crowds with camera phones , videos I cannot help but think that many are just treating this place as just another " bucket list " thing to do . A few photographs in appropriate areas of the camps for ones own reflection I understand but videos , photos in gas chambers , execution places , human hair and belongings..... I'm not sure . I guess that's why they put up no photography signs .

I almost agree with you about everything. But filming such places, photographs and such can be useful, specially for those that wish to learn and reflect about this history. Sure, one can learn by reading but to comprehend to further extents an image or a well directed video like this one can be even better. On my part, have always reflected over these events, but the one I actually felt empathy and a mix of sadness and anger was this topic, since i probably will never able to visit a these places i learned and reflected thanks to these videos and images. I try to be a better person and spread those sentiments with those around me in hora that so something so tragic NEVER happens again.

It's impossible not to know what is happening round the neighborhood..It's just impossible and if they say they didn't know what is happening there is a complete bullshit. when you see all the SS or soldiers sending many people on train there non stop, you must wonder what are they doing in those camps or buildings..you must have passed there once and looked from a far seeing people getting skinnier and looked worse..how about the smell from the crematorium spreading all over the neighborhood?day and night they must have seen some smoke coming out from the chimney..And they will say they didn't know??is a bullshit...

Taking the time to pay respect to the victims of one of the worst cases of human atrocities is a waste of time? People like yourself truly are a special breed of ignorant. The point of places like this is to act as a reminder to aid in the prevention of it ever happening again, go back to school and learn to critically think please.
