I’ve not met Derek yet but I have met Dave, Jack and his lookalike younger brother Josh at Hexham after the Kielder Stages. Also met Charlie and Paul and Angela at Anglesey circuit three times when I was marshalling on rallies there. I was there when Charlie won the juniors championship in 2023 and got to congratulate Paul. That was amazing and emotional. Also met Dave there at the Lee Holland stages but unfortunately the car gave up after one stage. He came over to talk to me during the day as I was there as a radio marshal. He gave me a Mathewsons Motorsport cap and coffee mug. You couldn’t wish to meet a nicer family.

A really enjoyable watch, thanks Matt. Yes please try to do more of these. It’s good to see you having a chat with another car enthusiast as a change up from your usual solo to camera videos. It was an interesting whistle stop of some cool classics, I loved that Lagonda. Maybe next time you could spend a bit more time focusing in on a couple of favourites, if they’ll let you take a seat in them.

There is a car collection somewhere in the UK with 36 of these Lagondas under one roof Matt an incredible collection of I think 300 cars on four floors . I shall try and find the link for you . Loved your chat with Derek who is proper old school and has a fabulous personal collection !

The early P1800 bodies were made by Pressed Steel in Linwood, Scotland and assembled by Jensen. Due to quality issues production was moved to Sweden and rebadged as the P1800S, the "S" denoting that the car was Swedish built and, allegedly, of better quality.

Definitely do plenty more shows. They have a great vibe and camaraderie. I moved from the UK to Cape Town 16 years ago and they have a few shows like this over here (without the auction bit). Most of the cars are classic British vehicles which makes me feel right at home. I always enjoy your channel. Good work.

An interesting feature and great to see your interaction with Derek. Some mutual respect here I think. These types of classic gatherings are great and they can broaden your knowledge and perhaps open up new opportunities. 1990s and early 2000s cars are gathering interest and are still relevant to modern buyers - not just hot hatches either.

Hi Matt, That Sir is a Mk IV Cortina a beautiful example built in Dagenham the 2GL was powered by a Naturally aspirated Inline 4 cylinder engine.

Thanks for that video Matt, very entertaining and interesting. I have bought a car at auction from them and went to pick it up. Unfortunately most of the guys were out collecting cars but we met some of their wives. Lovely welcoming atmosphere in the village and at the garage. Good to see you two influencers together chatting about cars. More of the same please.

Excellent video Matt, we was just down the road from you on the day at Kirby Misperton, on the way home we passed Thornton Le Day and saw the cars leaving, in particular we passed a Vauxhall Cavalier Sri 130 and a Ford Orion Ghia, (we was in the trusted l322 lol). Spot on Interview, so good of you both, a friend took me to Mathewson's in Thornton Le Dale about 6 years ago we had a good look around at the classic's and really enjoyed it. I remember when that Lagonda came out, it was out of this world beautiful and featured in all the newspapers, The futuristic look of the interior has not aged well as it looks so bland versus anything else Aston Martin has done. Love the Red Mini and the Blue pick up, still making people take notice after all these decades. Thanks again Matt.

Great cars! Red mk 1 cortina. Mum had a GT version. Reg NGC 481D. How have I remembered that!!!! And yes a Porsche 944 in Guards Red. Could not afford one back in the day but had a great long weekend in a hired black one. A picture of it with a much younger version of me on the wall in my den.

Loved this one......and yes the Cayenne does off-road well, I was expecting a bit of a Chelsea Tractor or over-sized Autobahn stormer but had to give it a go......and each test was so easy I kept upping the anti - BRILLIANT! And the look on peoples faces as you start a steep decent!!! :-)

Is great that what started as a lowball TV series has helped to put classic cars in the forefront at a time when the internal combustion engine is being demonised in favour of electrification. I believe there will be a move to use eFuels to keep classic cars going! Fabulous video Matt, and different to your normal ones.

I never knew Matthewson's had gone mobile! My two favourites that I noticed there were the Triumph Stag and the Kublwagen from World War Two. Definitely do more videos based on these kind of shows.

That was good Matt. Nice to see Derek too. The Aston Martin DB MK3 was nice. My dad had one when I was a kid. Big money now, especially the DB MK3 Drop Head next to it. The Cortina was a MK 4.....I sold them in the day. The E type was a Mk 1.5. Love the CSL in that colour (Taiga Metallic) Its an age thing Matt, these were the cars of my youth 😂

Hi Matt - I followed an Aton Martin Lagonda through Buxton 2 years ago. I thought the it looked great apart from the rear end which seemed out of proportion! Great show and really good interview with DM. THX
