Small annoyance in the cinematography; the short one image cutaways interrupt the flow of the video, works better if you cut away through multiple shots or longer single image shots. You geek out on watches, boots and fragrance, i do so on editing :)

Nat geo has always had high production quality, only now the actual content is like a funny book, not scientific at all and 100% political. I never look at their stuff any more.

It boggles the mind, ive a fair bit of smd soldering of tiny components on circuit boards repairing ecus, the guys who fix laptops and phone boards are a step up from my skills ,yet an old ecu with fairly chunky components is pretty difficult, this stuff is on another level altogether.

@@fiveduece52 you have no idea.. I am extemely dextrous , pretty talented with my hands I can make fine furniture, repair SMd componentry and im a good machinist. The chinese movements are not being made purely by hand , edm wire cutting, stamping etc is hiw they are mass producing these "spot on replicas" are way off the standards of the swiss. Look at thebdifference between an officila seagull movement and the knock off companies. The gap in just a 100 pound orice point is huge. And the seagull movements are superior to almost all the fakes that ape rolex abd pattek etc. Jaeger le coutre movenents are not replicated. The refinement that is required is way way way above any shenzhen knock off.

@@fiveduece52 the ending result is not the same. If they could fake a jaeger? They would. So basically thats exactly the opposite of what im saying, you dont know the first thing about any of it. Thats what im basically saying. A tope a1 fake? Will be a long way from a rolex in accuracy and finish and still cost around 800 dollars. They are faking the appearance and the movements do not have the same systems in them even. Amd whilst yiu are here advocating for child labour too. There is some stuff that they simply cannot replicate. Ask anoyine who bought even an expensive fake. They stop working after a year or two. The little screw that holds a tourbillion has to be perfectly balanced in concert with the other three, its why noone fakes tourbillions. Seagull do make one at a very reasonable orice.. And its a good movement but it certainly isnt an automatic. Get a pocket watch amd just try to service it . Then come back and tell me its easy. Even those chinese kids need significant training amd oractice to produce rudimentary movements tgat will function for a year, and the chinese dont come up with manufacturing techniques, they copy.

There are quite a few behind-the-scenes videos of the JLC HQ by other RU-vidrs. Adrian Barker comes to mind, but there are others. I agree with you, amazing brand. Just some unsolicited advice lol; I bought a Reverso during the height of covid without trying it on due to the circumstances, and it just didn’t fit. I sold it at a loss. Do yourself a favor if you’re considering a Reverso, and make sure it fits you. Square and rectangular watches are notorious for fit issues, as I have subsequently discovered. Good luck!

GS needs to thin out their movements and improve their clasps before they can be considered in the same class. The Zaratsu method also makes their cases scratch magnets.

I'm a millennial and grand seiko opened a new world for me. Made me love watches. 100% my favorite watch brand. The spring drive sweep is second to none. The accuracy is better. The polishing, the accuracy, the dial.. the best.

@@JackoWillMakeLives-loveu you know how many brands don't have adjustable on the fly clasps? I gave up on that dream, yes Rolex has it but Rolex completely taints the watch world being used purely as a flex at my age and the ADs are ran like shit. Their movements are solid but not as specialized as a 36000 bpm 80 hour movement or a spring drive which yes I know not everyone likes. The movement in my SLGA009 is thin enough, it's not a pure dress watch, their evolution 9 collection reminds me most of JLCs Polaris collection and those are the types of watches for me that make the most sense as they are durable, and have solid water resistance, solid movement, and unique dials, except grand seiko is innovating way more than them in recent times and really making things that no Swiss manufacturer is making. I could compare their movement finishing to H Moser not JLC for 10k which is crazy for me to even think about. The polishing attracting scratches for me, I could care less, it shows you actually wear the thing and the second I got a few scratches on it I wasn't afraid at all to make it a daily wearer and scratch it up. Mine only really has a few bigger scratches on the bracelet. I hate when people worry about scratching their watch which causes them not to wear it as much, I don't give a shit about the value of it, I just want to enjoy it. I didn't get it because it I thought it was flashy and it's expensive, I got it because it's the best white dial dress it up and down watch with in my case +/- 2 seconds a month for 8.5k (what I personally paid for mine)! It's the most comfortable watch I've ever worn, if I really wanted an adjustable clasp I'd put it on a leather strap. And I don't care if it gets scratched because the real artwork is on the face and is not the case. That polishing under that crystal is incredibly reflective and glimmers beautifully with every outfit I've ever worn with it. The issue I have with it is it makes me want to also get the SLGA021 which is identical in every way except for that beautiful dusk lake dial. I shouldn't be spending that kind of money on watches if I was normal but it's the only artwork I buy and it's the only accessory I wear so to me it brings immense and incredible value. Heck I even met a Swiss guy a few days ago and loved comparing our favorite brands and the pieces we own and we compared JLC to GS for over and hour, not to mention he's been studying for half a decade already to be a watchmaker.
