The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world and is dedicated to Shiva, one of the three major gods of the Hindu religion. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, it is a place of daily worship and rituals. The Pashupatinath Temple complex is spread over a large area and includes many smaller temples and shrines. Certain parts of the temple can only be visited if you are Hindu. Pashupatinath is also the biggest open cremation site in Nepal. Visitors can witness the cremation ceremonies that take place.
