It's interesting how Helheim and Niflheim are both realms of ice, yet they're both very different. Helheim is a very biting kind of cold, with the constant gusting winds that chill you to the core. Niflheim, on the other hand, feels more like a day after heavy snowfall, with a calmer breeze being the only audible sound amidst the otherwise death-like stillness.
Fun Fact: they had a whole quest chain that you did for Cinmara as her and Sutur were actually supposed to combine, but the quest chain slowed things down too much so they scrapped it and used the Blades of Chaos instead. some of that cut content (including ehr character model) are still in the games files. Hopefully they release a definitive edition with that content intact.
i thought it was cuz of atreus arc cuz he lies about stuff about saying odin killed surtr and other stuff like that but they scrapped it cuz the arc of atreus becoming a better person just went brrr
@@jackhernan6413 Pretty much, it was due to the game being too long already and also because it fucked with Atreus' development. It didn't make much sense for Atreus to be a piece of shit and manipulate Sinmara into forming Ragnarok.
Anywhere around in niflheim and maybe we will see her in the Maybe she might appear in the third part sequel of the norse mythology of god of war phase 2 norse mythology
I played at 3 am alone in the dark and i heard that sound, i instantly went back to the mystic gateway and got out of niflheim entirely. It was so creepy, it touched my soul.
I don't think that is Sinmara, you see nothing that resembles a fire heart from Surtr. I believe you just hear the echoes of her cries while in this area.
@@shawnmclaughlin5886 That statue is one of many statues that look the same, it isn't Sinmara. Sinmara was cut from the game unfortunately due to how long the game was already, but her cries across Niflheim were kept in.
I’m pretty sure it’s said that Ivaldi’s experiments changed the area around his workshop, introducing that toxic mist and that part of Niflheim was changed because of it.
Yea. When you play as Atreus, he mentions about it. Thor then explained that is because the poisonous mist is only around Týr's Temple. The location where Niflheim is in Ragnarök is somewhere far away from Týr's Temple. But Thor said "Far enough" so they were probably closeby the mist zone.
The effects of Ragnorak. You know how fimbulwinter hit and Midgard became all snowy and frozen? That’s what happened to niflheim. Each realm experienced its own effects of ragnorak and fimbulwinter
No. She was selfish, *They Both Were.* “Ehh let everything die we can’t be togethe/WAHHHH ONE INDIVIDUAL DEAR TO ME PERISHED TOO WAAAAH” They both deserved to suffer for being so pathetically written and Cowardly, *He’s SURTR He IS WAR/RAGNRARÖKR* And they made them both “ehh don’t care” Personally, she Deserves this. To Live On Only with a Piece of him left “oh woe as me”ing his sacrifice. It’s a pity Kratos is a nice guy now bc I was hoping for him to call her and surtr on their shit and just Ø their asses
Shame that Sinmara was cut e the final game, apparently there was an entire questline related to her but they scrapped it due to time constraints and thought it dragged on too long. This dialogue and the cries is probably the only part of the end content they left in.
Dude, they could've cut the jotunheim bit in like half if that was the case. Would've been preferred, that shit went on for like 2 and a half hours. Jotunheim is cool but dreadfully slow. Whenever it felt to me like, "finally! this must be the part where atreus and angrboda part ways" Nope. Angrboda kept saying she had one last thing
I have a theory, this game has left me with many Questions, 1. There were 2 prophecies, Kratos dying on the mural in Jötunheim and one with him being the champion, are there 2 timelines at play, here? 2. Surtr became Ragnarök without Sinmara because he had her heart, can she also become Ragnarök since she has his heart? 3. Did Thor go to the higher plane of existence like Athena by dying in an honorable way? His body materialized away like Athena. 4. Did Faye go to the higher plane of existence as well? When they had spread her ashes in Jötunheim, her ashes faded away like Athena and Thor. 5. Who blew the horn when Atreus got sick? 6. Was that horn to call the snake? Or was that the sound of Gjallarhorn being blown in another timeline like I mentioned in the first question? 7. If there are 2 timelines at play, Is Kratos a good version of Odin? He technically has Freya, Mimir, Draupnir, Dwarves who gave him gifts. 8. If there is a double timeline, is there one with a good Atreus like now and a bad Loki in the other? 9. Is this game in time loop? For instance, there was a prophecy of Thor knocking Jörmungandr back in time, then Atreus went back to Jötunheim, put a Giant’s soul in a soulless snake and he was born and then during Ragnarök, he got hit back in time. So technically, 2 different Jörmungandr existed in the same time period before the younger one got hit back in time.
@@w_rry And you found out from the source after game was released and couple contents shown up. Still her voice wouldn't be triggered at the statue part because that's only location where she starts crying and can still be heard after it.
It’s not a quote, it’s in the game’s files. Sinmara’s model is the girl in Nifilhiem. As well as her animations matching with her cut dialogue when the Devs had more plans with her. Though this is all we get of her. Besides it this isn’t Sinmara, who else is it supposed to be?
@@raybob8668 just a random statue since she fits with the rest of the ruins far more. also show me the source on that first statement, cuz I dont believe that anyones looking at gamefiles from a ps5 exclusive game
There is actually a cut content where she plays a big role. There's even a model of her in the game that never made it in the final cut. static.wikia.nocookie.net/godofwar/images/0/03/Sinmara_cut_model.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20221217093027

@@joaquinnevarez2509 "No. In an interview with the Director of Ragnarök, Eric Williams, and Sony Santa Monica creative director, Cory Barlog, they stated that this game will be the last one to have Norse mythology in the lore. They are shifting from Norse mythology to present players with a new location, storyline and enemies to fight, because playing in the same repetitive setting can be boring." I'm sorry to tell you, but you're in denial
There’s a cut model for her. Definitely not her. Same with a cut ending where Atreaus tricks her into thinking Odin killed Surtr and her sacrificing herself into the Spark of the Worlds too would create Ragnarök. Most definitely cut because of time constraints and running into plotbeats already made earlier in the game. Though it would’ve been fitting considering Loki in Norse.
Maybe she might appear in the third part sequel of the norse mythology of god of war phase 2 norse mythology along with other characters who didn’t have they’re opportunities to be in the game such as Ymir, Kvasir, Idun, Vidal, Njord, Hodr, Bragi, Ullr and Hela
Ymir’s long gone as Odin killed him, Mimir told in his boat story in God of War. Njord may still be out there since he is Freya and Freyr’s dad. Hodr doesn’t seem to exist in this game tho, since Odin didn’t go into detail about family. We don’t even know if Forseti is the son of Baldur. As for Hela, she may be a stretch since Atreus & Angrboda are still teenagers.
@@magdalenademedici7697 you might never know if they are there might be so sort of magical resurrection to them and some of them will might appear they’re
If you ask me, it was selfish of Surtr to gives his life so Sinmara would live. I know he loves her, but did ever stop to think how his actions would affect her? Sure, she would live, but now she has no reason to! He should’ve joined together with her and faced the end together rather than leave her alone and depressed!
It may hurt for her now, but it could be possible for her to overcome that pain and sadness in order to move on and find a new thing to live for. Kratos never thought he would be happy after the death of his first wife and daughter. But he eventually learned to let go of his pain and move on to have a new family, not that he was trying to replace his old family or anything like that. But he did manage to let himself be happy again (even if he is terrible at showing it). And if Kratos of all people can accomplish the feat of moving on from grief and pain. I like to think that Sinmara can too
I agree 100% to be brutally honest I don't think Sinmara has any more to live for than Surtr does, and the absolute audacity for Surtr to claim "what do I have to live for?" basically indicates he doesn't see Sinmara as something worth living for, which is obviously not true, and honestly by removing himself from existence, she now has nothing, and I doubt she's gonna ever find anything else to live for, she'll just grieve for the rest of her eternal life, alone and miserable.
Glad I'm not the only one to think this way. Surtr was selfish for thinking she'd want to live without him, when they love each other so much (or loved each other cuz I think that he didn't love her as much as she loved him). The "lesser pain" would've been for both of them to merge together so they'd be united one last time.

For those wondering the difference between Helheim and Niflheim: Niflheim: Winter Wonderland Helheim: Winter Wasteland One is a cool place to explore while the other makes you feel like Absolute Zero.
So I was trying to plat the game(4:00 Am btw) i was searching for the last hilt which was in the prison in nifleheim when I got out of the prison I heard this and got jumpscared lol.
I did not know that you could actually see Sinmara after Ragnarok you can hear her crying but I thought she was crying off in the distance of the BG like Hel was in the first GoW Norse game where you SAW her but that was it and in this case I though we could only hear her and if you looked hard enough you'd see her in the distance .....in some way I found it more cruel that Kratos was not made or given the option of telling her it would've been more kind or at least give closure
She would've been some kinda boss fight trying to stop Surtr which wouldn't be pretty. Plus the game is emotional enough, this is just another unanswered question for the next game. Imagine Kratos embracing his new role trying to keep the peace in Midgard.
Original she was supposed to have a physically appearance but the creators of the game decided to deleted her from the game so instead we just her crying without even seeing and visiting and forgive her but maybe we will see her in the Maybe she might appear in the third part sequel of the norse mythology of god of war phase 2 norse mythology

Yes, facts. I've always really liked the norse mythology. They still need to continue the next game in Migard.. Then transition right into Egypt.. Or if they are going with another pantheon entirely, next game, then it could be a prequel to before Kratos reaching the Scandinavian lands and meeting Faye.. But either way, I'm still kinda hyped on the Norse saga of God of War.
Its only a statue of Sinmara, the real person would have a hole in her chest containing Surtrs heart just like how Surtr has a hole containing Sinmaras heart
