In this adventure I head to St. Louis, Missouri in the United States Of America to visit the Gateway Arch. During vlog I check out this magnificent structure along with heading to the top for a fantastic view across the city.
The Gateway Arch was completed in 1965 and stands at 630ft (192m) above St Louis. Along with heading to the top of this impressive structure, I also check out the museum that's located directly underneath. Along with that I share various pieces of information throughout the video including a look at the unique tramway system that takes you to the top!

I'm from Orlando, but I lived in STL for two years 2016-2018. It's a very under-rated city. My only complaint is it lacks international influence. There aren't many people visiting or moving there to add energy to the city. STL should market itself to people from more expensive cities, because it truly has some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the country.
@daver7178
@daver7178 5 лет назад
Increased international influence would be an excellent shot in the arm for StL. However, StL needs to get some of it's affairs in order (city/county issues) before it will ever go beyond just another Midwestern city.
@queenneptune2456
@queenneptune2456 Год назад
I'm from California and have lived in St.Louis for years and I have to agree. This city lacks any influences to invite people to come here. This feels like more of a city people come to live in or visit family than to come here because of landmarks.

I've only been once and I wasn't able to go to the top bc it was SO FULL when we went in the summer of like 2007-2008. Of course, I spent a good amount of time in the museum portion. I only live three hours away, idk why I haven't gone back since LMAO I'm an adult now XD Everytime I go to STL I go to the Zoo, which is the best FREE ZOO IN THE US!! it's an amazing place and it only costs to park and everything you spend money on, goes towards the zoo and the animals.

The Windows are purportedly small in order to maximize the amount of steel in this 'keystone' part of the Arch. The two legs push together with something like 400 tons of pressure, so having big areas of glass here instead of steel would not work out too well.

I know this because of when the Pittsburgh Pirates play the St. Louis Cardinals the announcers commented on the new additions and stuff. They must keep that ballpark in such great shape that it looks brand new. That is awesome that you also like National Lampoon's Vacation. I like all the Vacation movies except for the Vegas one. I am going to the top of the St Louis Arch again this late spring. Then I am going to Chicago and going up the Willis(Sears) Tower skydeck and walk on the glass floor 1353 feet up. I wonder what 1353 feet looks like vs 630 feet. The cars from the Arch looked like small matchbox cars so I am assuming they must look like small bugs from Willis(Sears) Tower.

We love this channel its a shame you didn't have enough time in Dallas or San Antonio to do some vlogs. Save up money Shawn and do a big trip to Australia with lots of vlogs. We went last year an unforgettable place looking forward to going again 2020!

It gets hit with lightening regularly. You can see it from the cards game sometimes.

Nice, nice. I'm also interested in unique buildings. The Arch is still on my List . If you like this Arch you should go two buildings i recommend to you one is the Arch in Paris Le Defense and the Frame in Dubai (I have a Video on my channel about it). Thanks for showing the Arch. Greetings Joe
