Plenty of heart though atleast he didnt quit and fought with a broken jaw broken nose broken orbital bone and a torn bicep, a guy behind a screen Wouldn't last a round in Briggs shoes.
Big George was 48, I believe every year after 40 started slowing down a little more, was only the wrecking ball from 38 to 40 that even came close to his early career were he pretty much destroyed everyone but Ali who out smarted him. How I see it.
@@user-cj1tc8zi4e I can't disagree, but George beat Briggs up one side and down the other. In a properly judged fight, George even would have won on points, unanimously.
Muchas gracias !! Rafa
Vitali standing in front of Briggs with his hands down and landing bomb after bomb. Meaner than wlad, tougher than wlad. One of the scariest heavyweights for sure
Not really though. I feel like if Wlad was in there he could’ve stopped Briggs by the 6th round. This fight went on way too long and Vitali wasn’t able to hurt Briggs
@@quackster8295 nah, Briggs talked a sewage plants worth of shit leading up to the fight, and Vitali made it last, just pummeling him but not finishing him. Basically the modern day Ali vs Terrell.
October 16, 2010 Briggs fought in a WBCtitle challenge against Vitali Klitschko in theO2 World at Hamburg, the fight billed as 'Thunderstorm'. During the fight Briggs took a severe beating and after the fight, went down in his quarters. Briggs lost a clear unanimous decision (120-105 120-107 twice).[13] Brought to a hospital, Briggs was initially treated in intensive care and found to have suffered a left orbital fracture, a broken nose, and a torn left bicep.[14] In addition, he had another facial fracture above the right eye and a burst ear drum.
Disgusting mismatched fights should terminated. Penalties to discourage them..should be expensive and mental health should have less sports people in there care 😮
Vitali is a gentleman he show his strength in Boxing not on a microphone...Shannon learnt a lesson...to respect Klitschko,s...Better luck next time Shannon..
😊😊😊😊😊😊 And that turd Briggs deserved EVERY ONE of those right hands from Vitali. Lol The s**t Briggs talked for YEARS about the Klitschkos… I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Briggs had a torn bicep so one side of his face was undefended for the whole fight. Vitali doesn't have much punching power though because Briggs took bombs for 12 rounds and was still standing
I remember this fight. I can't recall someone else being a punching bag for 12 round straight before. Gotta give it to Briggs. He didn't quit, even though he got sent to the hospital afterwards.
It looked like Vitali Klitschko didn't press for the knockout when he hurt Briggs, opted instead just to kept hitting Briggs for the full 12 rounds, to punish him? So afterwords Briggs would "feel him". For the next couple of weeks Briggs had to spend alot of time at home with a sore face, sipping soups and juices, threw a straw. That's the biggest way you can payback someone for talking smack.
Vitali o calculista do boxe. tudo bem estrategicamente calculado para cada adversário. Os oponentes não o alcançavam. Força, esquiva e resistência descomunal.
Unnecessary punishment, especially in the 10th round. After this it was revealed that the injuries Briggs had incurred was a broken orbital bone, torn bicep and fractured ribs. It was clear he was out of energy, out of breath and wasnt punching with any power, there was no way he could win. Corner should be ashamed of themselves.
It's incredible the man himself carried on, when Amy single one of those injuries entitles one to drop out without any loss of face. Well, I suppose the orbital bone thing involves a bit of loss of face
Vitali is/was massively underrated because he isnt american. Beat everyone available not the greatest of all time obviously but a very good fighter much better than his brother who is a good but limited champ.
good comment greg waters. I have a similar view of the klitchko brothers. I do think however that he would give any of the so called greatest a great contest possibly may beat some of them.
Why are there always clowns on here posting that someone was underrated because they were not American? Really jackasses? Maybe it had something to do with performance. Briggs was out boxed by a Foreman pushing 50,Knocked out by Lennox Lewis in the 5th round.(Probably could have done it sooner) Klitschko lets this clown go the distance? WTF!
@@LionMetalMusic-videochannel What I heard was that the doctors had a tough time to reconstruct his face. Almost all face bones were broken. Those doctors that had seen this fight, first checked his both hands weather they had broken before the fight.
Briggs did not really beat Foreman, after the decision everyone was shocked that the judges choose him, he slaped around for 12 rounds, yet he brags over his victory.
what i dont unerstand is that Briggs had such handspeed but in almost all of his bout he never follow up when some heavies get in, its like he freeze for 3 seconds
That beating in the 10th is just so absolutely brutal. Some fighters don't eat that much leather in their entire career. How the referee didn't stop it is beyond me, that Briggs made it through 12 rounds is good for him, but they should have spared him some of that punishment.
some people believe in moral victories and just for him to be in tough, was a task for him, just look at his past, he's easy to beat and moral wins make them feel like they did something.
Plenty of heart though atleast he didnt quit and fought with a broken jaw broken nose broken orbital bone and a torn bicep, a guy behind a screen Wouldn't last a round in Briggs shoes.
This fight should've been stopped a few more clean right hands and (it might not look good but klitchko left hook was devastating)a few more left hooks and it could have been enough to cause a ring death. The best bit of refereeing in the match was when the ferguson told brings corner to stop cursing. Instead of cursing they should have swallowed their courage and pulled there fighter out. Really could have been a ring fatality.
@Ghost Obviously you trolling but its worth noting Vitali quit to a soft punching blown up light h3eavyweight in Byrd and he got his face beat up by a fat old version of Lewis.
As tough as we know Shannon Briggs is, he looked like a big guy who didn't know how to box or defend himself. Vitali got through consistently. Shannon got creamed in those late rounds, I'm surprised they didn't stop it.
Briggs is a human punching bag, you think after the 50th right hand you would at least keep your left hand up. This guy just kept taking right hand after right hand.
But still man, he couldnt really punch in that fight his bicep was torn, so he was just taking pinch after punch and didnt went down even once, briggs has an iron chin, i would like to see what would have happend in this fight if briggs could actually punch
@@j.r.8592 Nah I dont believe so, briggs is a heavy puncher, when he hits you to a body your legs are gone, i think he could have won by a decision or stoppage, there is always a chance, in the end Bouster Douglas ko Mike Tyson I mean everything can happen in a boxing match
He didn't disrespect Klitschko. It is all to hype up the fight a bit and Klitschko knows it. Klitschkos cannot hype and make noise, so at least his opponents try to make some noise to sell the tickets to the casual boxing fans. Mayweather sells tickets because of his noise outside the ring even though his fights are boring. Casual fans will always buy into hype.
That announcer actually claimed that Briggs holds a "victory over George Foreman ". Everyone who saw that fight knows that Foreman whooped Briggs ass. It was such a corrupt decision that it almost got congress to look into the fight game.
Trener powiedzial::jak chcesz byc Mistrzem Swiata,to jedziemy do USA.Oboje maja opanowane Jezyki::Deutsch i English..Vitali jest obecnie Burgermeister w Kijowie..
Commentator" that was back in 98 but they are both a lot older now"( yes that was by 12 years). "He ( Briggs) has lost every round, claimed he trained hard for the fight." ( maybe Briggs should have trained longer/harder)
Well done Ian John Lewis !!! You weren't a top fighter but you are a class referee. I think the corner should have pulled Briggs out earlier though. Poor Shannon was outclassed throughout. What a heart though.
I would not have been surprised if Klitschko’s corner would have thrown the towel in being so frustrated with Briggs’ corner and the ref. Should’ve been stopped after 7th. Gotta respect Briggs for his resiliense though.
Briggs collapsaed after this fight and had to go on life support. Vitalis stayed with him the whole time. Briggs's heart stopped and they had to zap him him back to life. Twice.
Despite all my bitching about the bout. But what a performance by Vitali won every round by a big margined. He was outstanding from the first second to the last. Hit alot and didn't get hit. Kept up a very tough pace especially for heavyweights. Perfect performance by my preferred of the two brothers. Much more action when Vitali was fighting compared to his brother Imo ✌ fight fans
Note to Briggs: LEFT JAB + RIGHT HOOK. Vitali was wide open the entire fight for a right hook, and he never threw one. If you're going to eat right hands all night, at least clobber your opponent in return. That's my thinking. Vitali held his right hand at his WAIST. Anyone could have hit him with a right hook.
i watched how briggs disrepected klitschko before the match and he deserved that beating. after the fight he spent 12 days in the hospital, with a broken nose, and a broken orbital bone! TOTAL DEMOLITION!
It seems that in this fight Briggs had some secret understanding with Vitali team that he wouldn't raise his both hands till the 12th round and block all punches with his face. What a man! Simply standing 12 rounds and getting hit more than 1000 times on the face. When seeing this fight I feel as if he was born to get beating.
