Had to take A and D as a child. I was born in a prison, spent the first year in that prison. I had rickets. My adopted parents gave me cod liver oil and made me play out side in the sun. Also put iodine in oil and put all over my body. Thank the Lord I never broke a bone. What is your best source and how much a day?
Very interesting 🤨, I’m vitamin A deficient and I have developed a lot of symptoms.. dry eyes , dry skin , breathing issues , developed inflammation in my stomach and esophagus mysteriously, anxiety , palpitations . So this Is all starting to make sense to me
I am impressed with the wealth of knowledge and dedication to helping others. I appreciate your ability to clearly explain functions. Then how they correlate to other functions in the body. You're appreciated. Thank you so much.
I had those bumps when I was a child knees and back of arms. I’m 63 now. Haven’t had those in 35 years. Thank you for your care and concern for others 🙏
33:45 - 34:52 What an awesome man! All doctors should be like him. I've had GP, nutritionist, endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, etc, doing this to me and I still don't know what is causing my Vitamin A deficiency. I've been wondering if I should visit a genetist.
Wow!😮 I had no idea vitamin A did all that. That was the most helpful, informative & comprehensive explanation of/about vitamin A I have ever heard. Thank you. You get a follow from me.
Thank you so much for this, Dr Osborne...you are not just a great Dr, but a great human being!! You clearly care about people, ordinary people, and this is so evident at 34:00, when you disintegrate the invisible barrier between physician and patient. Thank you so very, very much for being an amazing but humble medical professional! :) x
I have hypothyroidism. Never had my Vit A checked BUT started to supplement myself with 4,800 mcg per diem for my skin, hair & nails being 66 years old. I take psychtropics being Manic Depressive (quite balanced now) in addition to Topamax and Seroquel. However, I have had my gall bladder and right kidney removed, the lattermost due only to a birth defect, not disease. I'm without teeth because the dentures made for me were unwearable, the dentist I consulted refusing to assist me afterwards by saying it was all my fault, literally. No lie. (I've had a husband, friends and both parents with dentures and none of them had the difficulties I did with mine. 😑) I'm going to contact you, Doctor, on your embedded site in the facts listed below this podcast in order to get a more direct response. I hope this is amenable. Thank you. Your podcast is amazing, I'll be watching the others.
Well I'm vegan and hashimotos. I had my vitamin a checked two years ago and was low then but I had to have an emergency surgery which has been a 2 year recovery and forgot about my vitamin a deficiency. I just got my blood drawn and am waiting for the results. I also have bovine allergy. So no dairy. I have issues with gluten and have other food allergies. Have had issues losing weight. This makes so much sense. Thank you
You have the answer to so many questions in your videos. Thank you so much for sharing all the great information. I may be flying in for an appointment in October/November 2020.
Thanks for all the information! I would add that a possible link between vitamin A and Hashimoto's disease is that I've seen that vitamin A deficiency is common in chronic infections and since vitamin A is such an immune booster it then helps with providing the immune system much needed support. Through this the immune system (along with other supplements) can resolve the chronic infection (usually EBV) and Hashimoto's markers resolve itself.
Where can I learn more about such a knowledgeable human being? Where was he educated, where is he from ? presumible from USA, but from where in USA such a decent, unassuming, humble person, HANDSOME TOO, but with such inconmensurable knowl, edge of my preferred subject: medicine, health, nutrition etc.
Hi Doc Osborne, i stay in Singapore and originally from Indonesia. Glad to find your ch last week and like your angel. It's a good spread from Doc Berg, Doc Gandry, Doc Heyman, those that I refer to frequently! Thank you for your kind education!
Peter Osborne deserve 10 millions subscriber, didn't know Vitamin A that important, going to buy Vitamin A immediately , I just subscribed ,Thank You so much..
Yes hypothyroid...never had vit. A level checked. Very interesting....I am going to take vit A consistently now that I stumbled across the importance of this!!.
this video needs more love ♥ to many short shitty videos. Its neat to see that 2/2 culprits - bad galbladder and - celiac cause this, and i have both of them.
How much vitamin A should we take? Don’t want too much or too little as can cause brittle bones let alone the other issues . Regarding bones and dosing vitamin D, the ratio is important . Lab levels are always conservative for optimal so how do we know if we are optimal ? Why can no one decide in a ratio ? I’ve read from 30:1 8:1 4:1 2:1 and down to 1:1 with vitamin a being the former . Why is it so hard ? Thanks
Thank you for the highly informative info. you convey about nutrients and their functions. I've learned a lot about vitamins & other natural resources for healthier living over the years, but your videos are even more interesting regarding things I did not know.
No. Supplements do not compare to real food. They are completely processed, denatured and synthetic. Liver is the best source. Even eating it raw in small amounts like a prescription can help a lot.
Thank you. Can you supplement children a low dose retinol, let s say 1500-2000IU or only Beta-Car or Beta-Car(RE)? Mainly during a flu next to D, C, Multivitamins, and Zinc. I personally use 5000IU Beta-Car(RE) and 5000IU Retinol daily. It works terrific for me. I do increase the dose for 5 days during first symptoms of flu.
Very interesting and well said video on Vit A. You had mentioned that you made a Vit A and sell it. Did I hear you correctly and where can I find that?
Is it better to get tested for my vitamin a levels before taking a supplement or, like B1, can I just start on it without knowing whether I have a deficiency or not? Thank you....
What’s the best Vitamin A supplement I can’t buy? Thyroid hashimoto and Sfn. And autoimmune. Yes hypothyroidism and now bad sinuses and ear ringing and a 30 lab level vitamin A

It's funny because Vitamin A is a supplement I have never taken nor had checked . I checked some multi vitamins I have and they don't contain vit A either .
Thank you Doctor Osborne. I have vitamin A deficiency but in my country there are no Doctors in Nutrition and not the GP, nor the nutritionist, dermatologist, gastroenterologist or endocrinologist have wanted to help me find the cause. I'm desperate because I have symptoms and want to tackle it before it gets serious. Shall I see a genetics doctor? Also, can Gilbert disease have anything to do with vitamin A deficiency?
Celiac disease? Or gluten sensitvity? I have celiac disease which caused a bunch of deficiencies including vitamin A my stools were pale yellow and I wasn't absorbing fat which also means vit A.
@@rses916 Thanks Etheree. No, in my case, I have none of that, nor hypothyroid (though T3 is low). That's why I don't know what could be. My symptoms are more in the eyes and skin.
@@adaw332 You shouldn't be vitamin A deficient unless you have a stomach issue or you dont get vitamin A from food. So either you dont eat well or either you have a stomach issue. One way or the other.
@@rses916 Wow! Thank you SO SO much for the help. I did test for vitamin A, twice. The second time was a few months after taking supplements prescribed by my GP. One capsule 50,000 IU every day for 20 days. Levels did go up but not enough. I eat a lot of veggies and a good amount of dairy but never ate liver. I incorporated it about a month ago. I was tested for celiac disease with Anti-transglutaminase antibodies IGA and Anti-deamidated gliadin peptides antibodies IGG. The doctor said these two were the strongest markers so probabilities that I have celiac after this test are low, yet she now sent me to test for it again more thouroughly. I have the feeling that it might have something to do with either (1) Gilbert (high bilirrubin due to a lacking enzyme in my body), (2) My body is not as efficient at converting non-animal vitamin A (pro-vitamin A) as most of the population or (3) maybe my body IS as efficient as anybody else's but I just didn't eat enough pre-formed vitamin A. So my next steps will be to be constant with eating liver at the right, non-toxic amounts, then draw blood to see if my vitamin A has improved and to test for celiac again and if that doesn't work, go straight to a genetics doctor to see if something is not working properly in my digestive system. Again, any comments are welcome :)
hi sir big fan of urs , sir i have been diagonoesd with vit a toxicity and stopped medicines from a month yet no recovery and im having dry eyes, skin and eyebrow fall and many other symptoms pls tell how to cure toxicity🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Vit a toxicity could be a cause of vitamin D deficiency, so check to see if you are low in vit D That might be the problem. vitamin D could also lower vit A. I got this info by research, It helped me. Good luck 😊
