Every time I come across a physiology topic that is so unclear to me, I look up your videos and you never fail to give a fantastic and to-the-point explanation of the concept. Your use of visuals is wonderful too. A huge THANK YOU for helping medical students like me learn so much, this channel is so underrated but it is a hidden gem to those who find it

As I journey deeper into the significant role Vitamin D plays in our biology, its great to get this level of understanding the molecular process. great work !

There’s so much ambiguous and disingenuous vitamin nutrition info online I had to go this deep to begin to understand what vitamin D is. Thankyou for not pulling punches on the jargon.

Awesome video! You did a great job to break down the process, I’ve known there was a lot of misguided info out there on vitamin D and this really clears things up.

What happens to the hydroxy groups in the active form of vitamin D3? Does it become a water molecule as a byproduct?

Some people get very tired from supplemental vitamin D3 (oral supplements). Does anyone know the mechanism behind that? Reading in the comments of other videos, the degree of tiredness varies but it seems to happen with all kinds of doses from 1000 IU to much larger. Did anyone experience and solve the issue?

Great video! Could you make a video about human embryogenesis. There aren‘t that many out there with good explanations, but if you explain the topic I think it will be easy to understand :3

Great overview. The wavelengths are in the UVB range which is not present for long in sunlight. UVA is present longer and red and blue is present longest. With blue light waning much faster than red at sunset and rising much faster than red at sunrise. Sunrise and sunset light is very biologically relaxing. Sunlight from about 10 AM -2PM is good to produce vit D action potentials. But like you so elegantly noted the frequencies that come before in the day provide the doping mechanisms for the higher energy products of vitamin D synthesis.

WHERE DID HE SAY "But like you so elegantly noted the frequencies that come before in the day provide the doping mechanisms for the higher energy products of vitamin D synthesis." i read UVB that makes D makes it through the ionosphere only when the sun is casting a lower than 45 degree shadow of your own body height. So if your shadow is longer than you are tall you are NOT getting any UVB for your body to make vit. D.
