That match with RBY is the slickest performance I’ve seen in a long, long time. Absolutely brilliant technique.

Vito deserves the Hodge. Nobody else absolutely dominated the caliber of guy he faced.

I thought RBY was unbeatable this year but Vito dominated. Of course, I also thought Spencer Lee would not lose. Both were surprising matches.

He has Kellen Russell as one of his coaches. To me Russell is one of the most underrated multiple time champs ever and was one of the best scramblers of his day! Arujau has some solid coaching with him!

I was saying for a month before NCAAs that the lose to Latona was good for Vito and that he’d shock the world. After EIWA’s, I kept saying how looked locked in and that he’d beat Fix to meet RBY in the finals. I figured it would be a better match to watch than another close match with Fix & RBY. But I honestly can’t take credit for predicting the straight ass whopping he was gonna lay on Roman. Love this behind the scenes look bc this shows him getting mentally ready to shock the world. Bravo Vito, you deserved this buddy. You wrestled beautifully and trusted in your offense and ran through a murders row of hammers to get that title. Happy for him after what happened last year 🙏🏼

Who would have put money on neither RBY or Spencer Lee winning a championship. At any rate it was a great tournament this year, all respect to Vito.

Vito is such a likable kid. I was routing for him.

This match was abosolutely dominant. Vito did something NO one expected. I don't believe even his coaches believed he could dominate RBY the way he did. And this match is going to age very well. It will go down as one of the greatest matches in NCAA finals history.

Great behnind the scenes video. I heard the after-match comments about free-style and weight cuts. Vito should stay up and even put on weight like David Taylor. With the technique, speed and length, he should get stronger, keep his fitness and compete without cutting much.

He is a tall long 133, but not skinny, incredibly strong. He used his length to not let RBY get near him & used his reach / speed to get to RBY. Perfect genetic build for a 133. Whadda a nightmare to have to wrestle this guy, I hated wrestling those long leverage guys, they often are 2x strong as they look.
