Same, girl, same. I hate when I see the other new grads on my floor all chill and loving it and I'm literally developing an ulcer.

OB is not the easiest to get into. Nurses aren’t real quick to leave those positions. I understand I don’t like fast pace. It’s hard to get to know what’s going on with the patient. They turn into beds instead of humans. Hang in there. You got this.👍🏾

Exactly it’s like we’re working to get them out to bring another in while going through a million other things in between 😩

Hey girl congrats. I totally understand everything ain’t for everyone lol I loved the fast pace I started in the ER as a tech and quickly found out what was for me I loved it. Im an LPN for 3 years now ready to go back to school and get back to the fast pace. Maybe you can look into OR one day it’s slower. Good luck on your journey.

Was waiting on your vlog!!! Jersey girl who has graduated from NJCU public health education program and has been a respiratory therapist for over 10 years. I've been thinking about nursing, however I DO NOT like med surg bedside nursing and don't want to be forced to work there. After all your blood, sweat and tears, I'd definitely try to transfer to a floor that you would like more!!! My opinion. Keep making good content!!!
@TheNursingJewel

Thank you! Yeah I started looking elsewhere because I can’t stand working on the floor for another day 😩. And nursing definitely has it’s ups ands downs, but I agree with not starting in med surg if you already know bedside isn’t for you. That’s the mistake that I unfortunately made

I work on a fast-paced med-surg/tele floor as a CNA and I'm new grad that's waiting to take the NCLEX. I've been a CNA there for 6 months and I got used to it. I do understand where you're coming from though because fast-paced floors stressed me out. I think time management is a big factor in being able to manage stress. I wanted to be in maternity too, but med-surg/tele is usually where they hire the new people. Also, the feeling of not wanting to go to work is a sign you need to leave the job. I got that feeling when I used to work in nursing homes.

I was a CNA on a fast paced ICU and MedSurg/Tele. Nothing could have prepared me for this. Not even as a nursing student I understood the scope of what an RN has to worry about. They really don't prepare you. I'm at a loss. I dread work so much. But there is not a lot out there for me to change to. How did your transition to RN go? Did u stay in the same place?

I remember when I was a new grad RN over a decade ago, daamn that was tough! I worked in a level 1 trauma hospital. Good times. Do you guys have a step down unit in your hospital? If not, that's what makes the tele floor busy. Pt's on the tele foor should be stable. I moved to ER from the floor long time ago and learned a lot from there. Not everyone thrives in a stressful situation so I feel bad for you. I am a preceptor myself and it should always be, show a thing how it's done, help em while they do it and then 3rd time is let the preceptee do it themselves so they gain confidence. Being a new grad is like walking in public naked. It's terrifying yet part of learning. I hope you find a perfect job position for you. I'm so done with hospital BS so I don't recommend hospital jobs anymore. Maybe case management? Anything bedside is full of *** lol - from a burnt out ED nurse.

After a month, I cut the cord of me being a bedside nurse. I am moving to Patient Care Coordination/Case Management whohoo! I'll probably do PRN PACU or Wound Care so I won't lose any of my skills. Hope you find the perfect job for you. After 10+ years of being a bedside nurse, here I am signing out! 😁

I used to be a tech on a Megsurg floor and it’s a different hard.. I don’t wish to work there as a Nurse.. Both Techs and Nurses are always complaining.. techs get 12 patients and Nurses get 6..

Girl! 🤣🤣🤣 “they were like lalala the lalala… so funny!!! Girl get you a job that’s going to make you happy!! I refuse to do bedside I don’t care what anybody says!!! Maybe try a obgyn office or peds clinic affiliated with the hospital… or school nursing until there’s an opening on a unit you will love. Overall the experience will look good on your resume.

Tele is hard and horrible as it is a glorified medsurg they just have tele boxes . It's the dump floor of every hospital where they throw nursing home patients, psych patients homeless people and etc try step-down and pcu similar but you don't get as much patients as tele and many are on drips and are actually sick vs tele alot of them are just hanging out

Just watched your I quit video, and hearing this, no wonder you drowned. The onboarding/preceptorship sucked. No way u should have been expected to do the stuff u were. Hang a med by yourself dieing during 1st week in the hospital?!? NEVER. They set u up to fail and their loss bc maybe if your training was decent u would have stayed. But things worked out.
