Obviously you are a BMW fan boy and there is nothing wrong with that. But you are supposed to be unbiased when you review a product and this was very biased. The car was designed to be a road cruiser and not a sports car. WOW!
Ivey Fagan Jr thanks for watching. Actually I am NOT a bmw fanboy. I am more of Volvo guy, having owned an S40, two S60R’s and now my wife drives an xc60. This was an honest opinion. The new 5 series is a much better buy.
I hear you Tommy. BMW was the leader for so long and Motor Trend would do a comparo and BMW would win all the time. Now the other companies are giving BMW a run for their money. BMW is now realizing this and coming out with true driving machines again. But they are too rich for my blood. I like the S90 for the reasons you stated. I don't need a race car, I need a luxury family hauler with good tech and mpg. The tech is a little weird as you pointed out but just a couple of firmware updates should take care of that. I’ll take an M3 or an AMG over this car any day of the week too. But that’s not really apples to apples. People buy Volvo’s for safety and reliability. That wasn’t the first thing on my mind when I bought my AMG. That being said, this Volvo is a pretty sweet car. And considering what you can buy them for now, it’s really appealing. I don’t have any major issues with the ass end of the car. It’s not near as striking as the front end. But it’s not hideous. Could they have made it more appealing? Yeah. But it’s certainly not a deal breaker for me. I do wish the engine were a bit bigger. But 250hp is adequate. It’s not gonna make you choke on your gum like an M3 or a C63. But it should move you around fairly smoothly. I like it.
Great video Tom. The wife almost bough the XC90 when she was shopping but in the end went with the GLC. Those Volvos are pretty nice cars. Some days I question myself if we made the right decision going with the GLC.
Assion Ayikutu thanks for watching. I’ve been a Volvo guy for a long long time. But now that I’ve tasted other cars I’m realizing how much more you get from other makers. I’d get an Audi A8 over this S90 any day.
Pretty fair. You’re right on about who would buy this car. The voice control becomes less infuriating once you learn the right commands, but in 2017 should you really have to?

Nice car, in my opinion it looks very nice. The back is not the best side, but ugly??? Ok your opinion. Voice recognition is horrible but better when you use the commands Sensus understand. The noise is very loud in the video, tires?
It's meant to be comparable to a 5 series or E class not M3 lol. You would need a T8 and probably s60 T8 to compare that. Overall good review. People should know it's not going to drive like an A6 or BMW but it is very comfortable to take long rides in and has decent power for its size. It will also be in the shop far less then it's direct competitors. I own one and love it. But it's not a perfect car by any means and you hit on some fair points like the laggy infotainment center. Quality made. Safe. Reliable. That's what you buy it for.
@@TommyLGarage fair enough. Every consumer is different. Like I said I own one and love it but there's times I wish I had bought a comparable BMW for a sportier ride or possibly a Lexus GS. I'll say the interior on the Volvo is way nicer then a BMW which is kinda boring imo and things like that matter more to me as the type of consumer I am.
@@TommyLGarage all a trade off bro. You get the badass ride in the Beemer you won't get in any other luxury car in that range, maybe Audi idk. But trade off a little with interior design and comfort. To get both that performance and the interior in the same car you're gonna be spending a lot more then 50-60k. All a balance you just gotta decide what you enjoy in a car. For me a luxurious interior is paramount over a high performance engine that I'll just wind up blowing up with my heavy foot.
If you try and use the speech recognition language from another brand offering that will happen. The Volvo is superior in my book and not because I own one either. The BMW was traded for it and my Mercedes e-class was sold for a pick up truck. The Volvo gets way more attention and is safer to drive. It also has better seats and automation like adjusting climate and heating on the fly with no prior presets. The HUD is practical and not intrusive. The parking assist is way more accurate as well.
