Always look forward to your studio updates. And I love seeing the coral flat. They are looking so good from when you first started the flat. Can't wait for the next video. Hope you're having a great day in the Mile High. And staying warm bro! 😎
Cant wait to see how you get on with the reefer peninsula. Iv been wanting to get a tank setup for a long time so later this year I'll be getting the same reefer peninsula.
Your right along waited video you need to do more always look forward to watching what’s new and up coming on your channel... happy new year buddy looking forward to the monti tank 🤘
Exceptional video tour of your coral flat Jake. I was hoping also to hear what parameters you like to run.. could you let us know please? Especially keen to hear seeing as you have such a diverse range of corals thriving all together in there. Can’t wait to see the Monti tank!!! PS. So stoked to see the Dallas acro looking so happy with you. Any news on Derek’s Indecision? ☺️
Love the videos and I’m totally jelly of the studio. That’s a dream come true and you deserve it! One suggestion I thought i’d make would be to have some sort of backup on that ato float valve. With ro/di they’re generally very reliable but you still have the chance of a stray wire, snail or tank leak dumping all that water in. I’d control a solenoid with an apex and float switches but you could use a simple timer to open the solenoid once an hour for a minute. That’d add a huge safety net.
The production is always next level man. Love the vids. Wonder how cool the coral would look on an underwater camera with different views if that’s even possible.
Thanks for another great video! What are those ball shaped mounts for the micromussas? Are they Brightwell HemiXSpheres or another brand? Thanks again.
👊 Maybe a Sponge & Nudibranch Tank ? A couple Spanish Dancers or something ? Do you think you could keep a few Electric Scallops in the Christmas tank . I Love that tank
Hey, your power supplies for the lights are all touching, you might want to spread them out in the basket so that they can dissipate heat and not die early on you. I really like your setup and love watching your videos!
I might have missed you mentioning it but will you use any form of CUC? Love the videos Jake! When you frag the weeping willow....I wanna throw my name in the hat!
sometimes seahare or a couple Urchins, maybe a few trochus once the algae is more mature. But for now it's just one yellow, one tomini & one convict tang, plus one molly - and whatever small inverts like stomatellas that have proliferated in the system.
Great vid any suggestion on lights that are prices reasonably for a 65 high that’s 36 inches long that’s in the process of turning into a reef tank. Thank you
Love channel! Question? I have a 90 gal SW tank with a 40 gal sump. The phosphates is at 10 ppm. How many gallons will I need to change out and at what intervals? Thanks
Same, my phosphates are at 10 ppm too. I’m currently doing 30% water changes weekly and I have chemi pure elite. If you have chaeto in a refugium that also will help lower those levels.
@@samcostin7586 I just completed a 25% water change and added some Brightwell Phosphate-E. I already added some Boyd Chemi-Pure Blue canister filter. I really just want to know, how many water changes will it take for the Phosphate to hit zero?
I happen to notice an aptasia hiding under one of the corals , how do you deal with them spreading all over the corals? I just finally ot my frag tank cleaned out of aptasia , what a battle that was , im still catching an odd one every once n while but I remove them right away , took along time to rid my tank of them
So you ARE able to take coral from the ocean? It thought it was illegal. If that's legal I would totally go scuba diving and find some nice corals off a shipwreck or something.
I don't sell corals but once I have grown some more out you might be able to spot them in the local area, maybe a certain show coming up in a couple months ;-)
So cool thank you for the response !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ literally had that candy stuck in my head I can’t stop thinking about it. They are my favorite coral, so cool to watch them eat and such good response and I have a few smaller colonies of the ultra green and I just absolutely love them ! Hopefully I’ll get to see them soon🥰🥰🥰
5000mL of kalkwasser a day? Good lord! Oh and deal with those aiptasia in that coral flat before they become an issue. I only saw 2 (Under Evan's green polyp leather, and the Milka Stylo), yank the coral and chop off that part of the rock/plug they're on. I have too many bad memories of chasing aiptasia in a large tank.
This tank will get a total cleanse and I'm aware of the craptaisia, and it's a good bit more than you saw. Also, just upped the Kalk to 7.5 liters per day trying to get the pH to peak closer to 8.5 later in the day.
@@ReefBuildersVideo Yeah, don't want to sound like "aiptasia police" it's just I have PTSD from my bout both aiptasia and valonia on my 6 foot by 5 foot 375G monster... everything went over was bleached and muriatic acided ... except for corals from other tanks... they got their foothold.. and well after about a year I just gave up and gave the tank away and tried the bleach bit again... big difference is you don't have rock structure to deal with, so your battles with it hopefully go much more successfully than mine. It is good that this is the "holding tank" though, so hopefully it acts like the mother of all QT coral tanks. When I visit my cousin in Denver I hope you're open for visitors :D
Anybody know what the white and blue coral is? Kinda looks like a hand with fingers, it's stuck on the side glass of the tank with a clip near the euphyllia
Always looking forward to your videos. Always learning something. Jake want are you using for a bio load if any in frag tank. Is it necessary say rocks or media? Your studio is coming together nicely.
