Nice to see this rig still going strong, I recently bought another one as my previous one had 525,000kms and was getting a bit tired (3.1TD) new one has a 4JB1TD 2.8 in it and runs like a clock, dual batteries, rear diff lock ...loving it, so glad to still be driving a Trooper.
This is incredible. I have a few 3.2 Liter isuzu engines in my backyard. I am looking to build a 3.2 motor and supercharge it. Spent the last few days at the Albuquerque junkyard pulling a 4WD 5spd Trans. I burnt through 4 4L30 transmissions already. Going to convert to manual Trans on the Rodeo so now I have to finish and supercharge it. Thank you for all these videos!
hey no problem! always here to help and let me know if you have any questions. i have some more supercharger videos in the works at the moment. Also if youre in ABQ lets hit up cedro peak sometime!
Hey Isuzu brother, that work is impressive and looks like it's what our Troopers always should have had. I don't have nearly the knowledge and persistence you have to get that stuff done, but I still have my '99 but unfortunately with the automatic so I won't be getting the supercharger. I also have the TOD system with a bad leak coming from the actuator, and I see nothing on line about any else having to deal with it. Did you have that system and then convert to part=time 4HI? I need to sell my Trooper but I want to figure this problem out first. Nobody from the little shops I prefer wants to work on this particular problem, which seems fishy since it's Borg-Warner and they sold similar stuff to many companies. So... might try Chevrolet or another company that might recognize the parts. Happy off-roading sir.
its the a cheapo ebay one. pretty sure thats the only one you can get for it these days. Safari brand might have a trooper or holden jackaroo snorkel, but no idea if they still make them
Hi friends, greetings from the Czech Republic :) Can I ask for a page where the compressor kit can be ordered for 3.2 v6 and how much did it cost? Thank you.
at my altitude (i'm over a mile high) i run 86 octane. even at max boost, its not very much just 4.5 lbs. if i was at sealevel i'd maybe go higher. I still get better MPG with lower octane even with the supercharger. I'd say before the SC I'd get as bad as 12 or 13 MPG and if I really behaved myself I can get 18 or 19. Afterwards with the added boost if I'm easy on the throttle I can easily get 16 in the city and 18 on the highway. I just need less throttle to get moving with the SC. However if I put my foot in it i'll get 12.
Since I can't get ahold of a supercharger. I had already turboed my samarai and love it. I have the same problem as you live a 7000 ft elevation and highway is brutal
12 city, 16-17 highway. i just found out ive had a vacuum leak on my throttle body for the entire time ive had the SC installed so i think its going to run better once i fix that
