Buy a Trooper, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Filling that damn trans on the ground, in the dirt, without a pump is hell. The designers were pure evil! I use a bug sprayer bottle now. I conquered the evil! LOL

Had a transmission leak on my 2001 rodeo, so I did my main transmission pan gasket twice and my shift shaft seal 3 times and then saw where it was actually leaking. Between the 2 pans. Transmission has to come out and be taken apart to fix it. It would be nice to have a lift instead of doing all this on my back in the dirt. I recently bought a 2000 Honda Passport (same vehicle) and it started intermittently shifting funny. So I just did all this to it last weekend. Now it shifts great except for OD. it won't stay in 4th gear once it gets over 50mph. I'm going to try installing new shift solenoids this weekend. Fingers crossed! Spending a small fortune on Transmission fluid.

Sure wish I would have watched this video first. I dropped the cross bar without any support on the transfer - nothing "fell out", but it sat overnight until I could get back up under it and put it on - then I realized why one side was going on and the other wasn't. Had to get a jack up under it and lift it until it was on. Also, I was totally ignorant that there was another "smaller pan" forward of the larger pan. I didn't drain it. No wonder I didn't get too much out when I drained it. I started filling the large pan and once I got about 3 qts in we started the trooper - kept filling. Once i hit about 5 quarts the fluid started gushing out. I hurried up and put the fill plug back in. Should I have let it drain just a little bit more? Will too much fluid in the tranny be bad? This is a work in progress - haven't taken it for a ride yet - not sure if too much fluid will screw anything up and I'm trying to find an answer.

GDit too late I already snapped the cross member bolts lol at least this confirmed the correct way to do it. ONLY video I've found that emphasizes supporting the drivetrain. Lesson learned... Now for bolt extracting :(

Im wondering if a 92 2wd auto trans will mount to a 2000 2wd auto

Is that the 10mm socket you found in the f250 by chance? or saving that one for a back up? also you don't need a Torque wrench just 2 or 3 uga duggas from a 1/2 inch drive impact will do the trick. I am a pro I do this stuff for a living. 😁

I could really use your help with my 99 Rodeo. 😂 Anyway the transmission line has rotted out so I guess I'm going to use some rubber hosing because the transmission guy suddenly went from 900 to 500 😠 When I refill the fluid you think I should change any of these gaskets in the pan? All I want is this transmission to see 200,000 Mi and it's at 157 now

I think its better to use a synthetic DEXIII instead of DEXVI which is thinner. There are a few brands compatible.

You should make a mention that you filled the pan before starting it up... Video transition seems like you replaced the pans and started it.... Dry

Idk if u noticed the video stopped but just asking do i fill the box before starting the car and then a final fill as u wouldnt wanna run it dry or can u just start the car straight up and then fill

Where are yall located at? I'm up in Charlotte NC and just bought an 01 Trooper. Just replaced the tranny and I'm looking for some guidance on replacing quite a few items. The vehicle wasn't treated very well before my ownership, so I'm replacing everything from gaskets to cooler lines to the suspension.
