I've thought about this swap myself in my 91 Rodeo ute and am so super glad you've done it in a trooper. Keep the videos and information coming bro, much appreciated. Just done my 2nd head gasket inside 12 months and I'm sick of the lack of speed on the highway too.
I'm not too familiar with your model of trooper. Mine's a 94 so it's a different body and a few other big differences in there. I'm not sure what the big differences between your's and mine but I imagine with mine being a bit bigger may be more forgiving. But you're selling me on the lexus right now since I'm basically after the same thing you are. Just a more powerful and more reliable version of the same vehicle. I hate my 3.2 in here now but it's still running at 200k. I'd still want to keep my AC and hopefully cruise control if I could. MUST keep my manual. Thanks for the information.
Hey Johnny I have a 3.2 DOHC V6 trooper. What V8 engine and transmission would you recommend I use in it . I want to do a conversion because my transmission and engine damage. A lot of sentiment to this trooper 1993 6VD1 came in it

I'm also starting to source parts for the same swap. I have a 1986. I wanna put in the 5 speed from the 89. This is a couple years late so I wonder if you did your swap with baby Duramax.
DO you have a checklist of parts and challenges that need addressed to pull this off? I'd be interested in going this route for my '91 Trooper 2.6L 5 speed.
@TheSushiraw your so far off base..you may as well be on the moon. The Toyota 4 runners are ..pure legend. Japan steel good for 350 + when looked after
