Hola Don William, Muy bueno honda!! Thks for the hostel names and some of your routing names too! I am driving north from Patagonia next year and haven't been through Peru since the late '70's, so really looking forward to the new old world and some fabulous routes. Abrazo y STAY SAFE!
Awesome video and one hell of an adventure ride you’re on. Thx for bringing us along. Takes a special person to do what you’re doing and enjoy too. Best of luck, looking forward to more vids.
Ok, so I just finished watching all of your previous episodes. Thank you for sharing your story, really great and inspiring work. I hope to do some long tours on my motorcycle in the future, so it is great to see someone living the dream. Keep up the good work and spirit and good luck on the remainder of your journey!
Crossing over to a different rut in the sand sucks.I got thrown down in Baja from that.It twisted my knee and it was tough kick starting my xr650r with a bum knee. The bike was loaded with soft baggage and it trapped my leg.As usual an awesome vid.
What an awesome bike it would be if only HONDA had equipped it with tubeless tyres or at least had a version with standard tubeless tyres available so that the customer could have a choice !! Nice video 👍
You might not feel that way after having to fix a few flats and fight like hell to get the beads back on the rim. Nothing wrong with tubes, they always work.
Smokey Walker As a matter of fact I do ! Repairing a tubeless tyre in my own humble opinion is way easier on the side of the road via inserting a plug instead of pulling the inner tube out and putting a patch on..... But hey that's just me 😁 Safe rides 🏍👍
I have a Tiger 800XC and at first I was also pissed that they were tubed but then I went to couple of trips with my friends with tubeless tires and they got punctures in the middle of nowhere and the tires went off beads. Lucky them I had couple of extra tubes. Without them it would have been a lot of time and money and effort wasted as there's no way one can put the beads of tubeless tires without a high powered compressor. We tried blowing tires with firing a splash of gas in the tire but it does not work as well as with car tires. so now I think I'd rather have tubed tire and couple of extra tubes and patches rather than find myslef stranded in the middle of nowhere with unbeaded tubeless tire.
Totally liked it... Especially the volcanic send off 😀😀😀. Keep up the great work... Hoping to see many more of your videos in future. One thing though... How would you rate the africa twin as a touring motorcycle on highways?
Hard cases are good for one thing...locking them. Outside of that, the frames can and eventually will break if you go down. They also can wreck a knee when paddling legs. They're heavier and will leak if cracked. But hey, you look cool right? I've ridden 80,000 with hard cases and 30,000 with soft. I sold my Zega Pros and went to Mosko Moto soft gear. I will never look back and wish I had them the entire time. Has anyone said, "I wish my bike was heavier." ? Oh, right BMW 1200 guys do all the time. LOL.
Soft bags have gotten much better and hard cases have pretty much stayed the same over the past 15 years. Touratech is bankrupt and Mosko, Giant Loop etc. are growing. Cost is a big issue for many.
Do you have a Hot-Wx (armour only) + a Cold-Wx over jacket ; or have you found another way to handle hot deserts and then up high to freezing/rain in S/Am 6:46 - is that a Badlands suit at 5:49 and 9:31 ; does B adlands have enough vents for the searing heat? From memory you started the RTW with a different grey/black suit? Changed it?
hi mate how many times have you changed the seals of the suspension forks?? sorry to ask, also did you do the job on them yourself did you make a video of them??
Come ride Pakistan with me, you will forget abount the Andes cuz the himalayas, karakorum and hindu kuch mountain range collide with eachother in pakistan :) You can see 8000+ meter peak from your motorcycle :p
No stubby.com plastic tire tools that have been out on the market for 6 or 7years now with a patent nose for easily spooning off the bead without carving unsightly notches in those expensive rims ... speaking of rims and traveling in areas where englay is not the native language but some thing of espinulo pig latten does not even come close so everyone around you instantly knows you are the news gringo like a wounded Giselle in lions den ..so why not install tubeless laced spoke wheels and carry a plug patch kit with a CO2 assisted bike pump and leave all the wrenching to the Harley riders while you plug pump and ride
