Hi Hayley, just a LITTLE tip for your reversing in tight up to the wall spaces…..Keep a small bright traffic cone in your locker and place it around 10 foot away from the wall or obstruction in the area you are about to reverse into. Your trailer will be in the region of 8 ft wide, when you reverse back just go to “KISS “ the cone with your trailer wheels on the side you can see in your mirror, that will ensure you’re clear of the obstruction on the blind side by at least 2 feet. Hope this makes sense.
Nicely controlled steady reversing there. Always 'fun' when they put an industrial estate in a residential area. That, or when people decide to park cars, leave pallets, FLTs and everything else strategically placed when you are about to manoeuvre as I find.
Good video there Hayley, reversing was nicely done. Just to remember, a 62 plate tractor is now 9 years old and the company probably wants to move it on while it's got a reasonable value.
I have difficult time remembering you are in a right driving truck. I use to work on coffee machines like the one that gave you a short cup. Love your humor.
Very good video Hayley as always the MAN is a good truck I had one for a month but I do love my Dafxf 480 keep up the good work and keep on trucking xxx
Hi 👋🏻 Hayley your a real sweetie 🤩 So glad you’ve found something that suits you 👍🏻 Your reversing is coming on a real treat 😂 Steady as you go 😀 Keep safe cheers Stevie 😘 x
Good to see you again Hayley and your man lol don't worry about your hair mine is out of control wether I dry it or let it be! Will moss deff see you in the next one. Keep on trucking 😁👍
Hi there Hayley lovely video 📹 😊 you are definitely doing well class 1 hope your cold 🥶 gets better 😀 and the MAN truck love it glad you have it to give TLC before it retired xx
Great content hayley, little tip when undoing your curtains I used and saves walking a lot is pop front curtain pole out and point towards rear of vehicle then unclip and then pull to back of vehicle shouldn't catch and will make it easier for you 😀
@@TruckDriverHayley yeah see what you mean lol, try pulling curtains from back door of trailer till they bunch up then move along a bit, even without good runners on curtains it maybe a bit easier for you pulling them back 😉
Hiya Hayley. Great to be on another one of your virtual lorry journeys again via YT. I spotted the name of Yale on the fork lift loader, and I do so happen to know that we had a neighbour who lived next door but one to us, the late Eric Twigg, who worked for the firm who produced the very machines that no workplace has done without for decades. Eric's sadly no longer with us now, but his widow Pam is still very much in touch with my mum since she left our cul-de-sac nearly ten years ago. Keep trucking Hayley & look forward to the next vlog presently.
Looking good Hayley new job seems to be all good for you, hope you're getting better and life treats you well great to see you back on line best regards Mark at C B 👍👍😎😎xx
Your getting better and better Hailey at reversing well done 👏 please do me a favour put that number plate on the trailer before you start the unit up when you are next the bank or anything else because anything could go wrong and one day you could come unstuck sweetheart and I like your videos to much 😆 lol.
Love your content Hayley. You’re one of the few inspirational truck drivers/vloggers who’ve helped me in making the decision to go for it. Doing my Theory and Hazzard next week, then straight to class 1 training hopefully. 😀. Drive safe.
HI Hayley, just wanted to say that I love your content. And as I'm watching this video across the pond from the UK here in Montreal Canada on the 15th of January in the late evening, we are enjoying a toasty -25 Celsius. Hoping this makes you feel a little better about your temperatures there. Cheers.
@@TruckDriverHayley I'd like to say we get used to it but that's not true . I absolutely hate winter and as the years go by I'm less tolerant to the bitter cold and it gets really cold here. -15 to -25 is average but then we get a scattered days of -25 to - 30ish ! Unless you've felt it you could never imagine how cold that feels! We just hope for spring to come quickly, thats how we cope really!
Great video and you seem happier..... Hope you keep on vlogging as i have seen you grow into the role of a HGV driver and getting better. At leased you're not giving up! Says a lot about your character! Well done! 😁
Awesome v log you look like you're enjoying the new job ..I had a stinking cold / sickness bug a few weeks ago spent nearly a week in bed not been that sick for years
I decided to make a career change recently into HGV driving. I'm taking my module 1 and 2 theory in 2 days. These videos are actually really helpful for simply getting to see what the job will actually be like. Cheers
I love how you edit your videos, compared to other HGV youtubers. Although Trucker Jenko is really good to. Enjoyed your videos all the time, your so down to Earth and so nice to people.
Great vid Hayley, I deliver to a place just passed your drop at burntwood on the same street, always fun getting 3 meter wide steel plate up there, even more so with those roadworks 😮
Made my way through quite a few of your VLOGs now over lockdown, chin up Hayley, HGV work has it's up's and downs and with you there are more up's lol. I've driven HGV's in one form or another since I was 25yrs old, got my licence in the Military, then when I left the Military, I left the driving for years but kept up to speed. You never know everything and can always learn, and as long as you're prepared to learn you'll enjoy and find the type of work you like. Take no notice of the Negative comments, they are always going to happen. And I'll be watching lol
Hi Hayley When doing. Curtains. Why pull them all the way back what l do is pull the curtains from the back half way let then unload the pull back a bit then pull the curtains from the front half way unload the front then you are only pull half of the curtains about 🙂👍🏻
good to see you back Hayley, i had to laugh @ the comment about your car windscreen re freezing over, i was on fb messenger phone with my son in the USA early am today (sat), it being fri pm in new hampshire and it was only -17 or as the yanks(his wife) say negative 17 :) :) we are sooooooooo lucky not to ever get that low :) :) keep them coming Hayley :):)
That is a good camera. Check out FSC Trucking in the US, he drags a trailer with a 1984 Peterbilt. you might find that interesting. I haven't been driving a semi since the late 80s early 90s, before tractor trailers became a thing in germany. MAN trucks were still "unterflur". Google that. I am surprised just how short that tractor is, and fuel tank only on one side? Here in the US trucks carry 3-400 gallons of fuel. for your first delivery, i would have instinctively hugged the the corner on the "good side" with the tires much close than you did. I think that would have put you at a softer angle and tighter to the wall. And, yes, lines on the ground go a long way. Nowadays i drag a 28 foot camping trailer with a Ford F250 to 10 Nascar race weekends, so i still drag a trailer about 10,000 miles a year.
Hey Hays I’m glad you are doing better great video the truck not that bad I’ve seen worse keep going on truck because I’ve not been driving class that long as you no and it’s good to be no the same par if you no what I mean 😊
Just come back from Charlies and now he is at 372 subs. Now I'll have to keep my eyes open for you if your coming up from the Midlands more regularly, and if Spike stays over on the nearside I'll have to get Rex to look out that side as we pass you! Nice to find folks that don't mind being filmed although I never ask them as the cameras are rolling all the time all day. I see your man works for the enemy, sorry I mean the competition! All the best to you Hayley.
I’m loving the throwback to March 16, 2015 😂😂 I didn’t know you had a license back then. 😜🤪 eerily dark for 1:24pm… always happy to see your video pop up. Hope your staying safe my lovely 🥰
@@TruckDriverHayley no one set the date on the camera… there’s a date and time stamp showing it was “filmed” March 15, 2015 😜🤪😉 …upper left corner once the video starts 😂
Hi Alan from Burntwood, aren't these drivers getting younger? 2 men in your life, Spike the ghost, matches your hair 😆 🤣, nice to see your partner. Will check out Charlie's channel, 16 years on hgv I see. Great video, hope your cold moves on soon. Stay safe all and thanks for sharing.
Tis the season for roadworks, Hayley. As soon as we're back from Christmas/New Year, we're into the last quarter of the financial year. So the cry goes up, 'use it, or lose it!' Hence roadworks, roadworks everywhere. Even covid or omicron can't deter them. Covid may have stopped alot of things, but not roadworks. They continue undaunted. They're like weeds that spring up overnight. They can be set up in ten minutes. I used to think Gloucestershire was the world headquarters for road cones, but it seems we have competition from pretty much everywhere now. They should test your driving skills though. Maybe a vlog on negotiating roadworks should come next.🤔 There's plenty to choose from. 😊
Glad to see you back Hayley, I have missed your vloggs. I like your Content perspective as a fairly new Class 1 HGV Driver, Giving us insight into day to day of HGV Driving. I passed my Theory and Hazard Perception on the 12th January, my Training and test is booked for late February, so hope to have changed my job by March, I am looking forward to passing and getting a new job.......fingers crossed about passing 🤞🤞. I am seriously thinking about Class 1 as there seems to be more jobs for Class 1. Keep up the videos as I learn a lot from your experiences. Keep safe on the roads.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. Congratulations on passing the theory and hazard perception 🎉. I don't regret getting my class 1, it opens up new opportunities. Give it a go if you can. Good luck 😊
Omg, i passed my theory and hazard perception same day!!! But, earliest I can get training up here in central Scotland area, is start of April/May 😔 but I am just as excited!
@@michaelsch5796 Congratulations Michael on Passing your Theory and Hazard Perception. Yes I am in Fife this was the earliest I could fit lessons and test in, but they told me space is tight with numbers of people wanting HGV lessons. Good luck when it cones anyway.
Hi Hayley, hope you don't mind me saying but you seem so much more relaxed, but you are doing the same thing , driving a tuck . . . must be the trailers and what your delivering . . Good on you, stay safe, be happy . .☺☺
Good morning Hayley, that camera Charlie loaned you try is very good, nice and clear too even in the dark, I will look his channel up and give it a like. Very impressed with your torch too, where did you get it please, be handy for car and truck that one, hope to be driving soon now my own transport woes have been sorted out. Have a good weekend and week from Monday😊
Hi Elizabeth, the torch has "pro-elec" written on it. It was supplied by the company, I hope that helps? Fingers crossed you're behind the wheel soon 🤞🏻😊
Sharing a cold sore tip. The pharmacy / chemist etc can give you some tablets that you take at the start of getting your cold sore/s and it either stops them appearing completely or reduces the severity and length of time by a heap. I only found out about them last year and now rely on them every time
Hey Hayley great vídeo. It is my first week on my own driving a truck and is been really intense . Struggling with the reverse every day Hopefully i can be like you .
Hi Hayley, enjoy your channel. Good to see you've found a work place that you seem happy in. Please could you let me know what cameras and accessories you use ( stands, suction arms etc ) and or mounts for each video as I see you seemed to have a few in the cab during the video but just wanted to know what is your main kit you use to make decent quality videos like you are doing. Thanks and well done.
The reason the driving school has the drawbar is to do class 2 and class one using on vehicle but nothing wrong with learning on a draw bar you do sometime get jobs were they ask for waggon and drag experience but I'm sure if you can drive you wont have problems with an artic just take you time
Make the Jump! I started in August with Theory, 28th of October started learning to drive. and since last week i got my license for the Rigid! It may seem daunting on the first lesson, but you will fall in love fast! Hope you will give it a go, otherwise, somewhere in the order of 150gbp well spend on an experience of a lifetime driving a truck once!
Wow brings back memories from last year, when I worked for Encase in Banbury, I delivered to your Burntwood drop a couple of times. It is a bit tight. Cardboard is a nice easy job, no weight to worry about.
Good video again ...looks better you reversing skills ...I'm still finding difficult my reverse. I felt my test reversing last week . Again any tips . ? Thank you again
Hi Hayley I must admit that you are becoming a pro day by day. I have a question though...do you use the same technique to stop like in the rigid Truck? Would you be so kind as to make a video about when to stop in an Artic please. Many thanks in advance and have safe journeys! 😊👍
Thank you. No I don't use that technique. The reason is you can put a bit of steering on to "bend" the trailer so you can see the end of it clearer. I just lean my head out of the window and I can see when to stop 😊
@@TruckDriverHayley Thanks Hayley, I guess this is something one learns with experience. Tomorrow I begin my training in an Artic so I can try this out...looking forward to your next video and Safe Journeys!
Hi Tony, I use a Garmin truck sat nav to get me to my destinations. The one on the right was the company sat nav that's linked to their tracking service. I just prefer to use my own that's why there was two 😊
You take a break when you are ready. As long as it's within the first 4.5 hours of driving to comply with the tacho regulations and within the first 6 hours of work to comply with the WTD regulations. to put the tacho on break you press the number 1 button until the mode changes to break.
Brilliant content Hayley. Did you find getting a job easy as a new HGV driver? I’ve noticed that some companies require some sort of experience when hiring. Just wondering if that’s a massive deal or not so much. TIA.
I know a couple of people who invested thousands in getting their HGV licence and cannot get work due to no experience, they have tried Agencies and direct to companies, one has given up trying due to not getting a single interview. Not sure how you get experience when you can't get your first HGV job little wonder they have a shortage of HGV drivers. I am not in the industry so this is just what I have heard personally.
Well Covid wasn't heard of back then! I found my first job easily because they were happy to take on a new pass. Some companies want experience and won't bother with you otherwise. There's work on the agencies to start with but they might not be the best jobs or shifts. There's plenty of work on night shift or afternoon shifts. I found my current job because I was recognised from my RU-vid channel, I'm not sure how I'd have got on without that if I'm honest. It can be tough!
Roadworks in Burntwood? How unusual! LOL! Those who know the area will get the irony of that remark after the many months of disruption while they altered that big road junction!
