VLOG: Busch Gardens Williamsburg Food & Wine Festival 2024 | Loch Ness Monster, Griffon & More!

Summertime brings a healthy balance of coasters and cuisine to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and we’re making our annual stop-in at the end of Food & Wine season to pick up all of the delectable dishes that the event offers! 2024’s event brings a handful of new food and beverage booths to the park, not the least of which are the Africa and Turkey booths that Katie was just dying to try. And, of course, we couldn’t set foot in one of the country’s award-winning theme parks without conquering a few coasters, too! We made a point of taking a spin on the newly reimagined Loch Ness Monster: Legend Lives On attraction in Scotland, as well as a few classic credits like Griffon, Alpengeist and Verbolten. Despite it being a rather busy day at Busch, we also managed to hop on board the Railroad for a quick loop around the many European countries on the property - and we got to test out a brand-new camera throughout the day, as well! Busch gardens looks like so much fun!! 🎉 really have to get there someday. Love seeing all the booths and what they have to eat. Greg’s always wanted me to try horchata, he loves it. The tacos look really good! All the rides look fun. Glad the Loch Ness ride had great theming. Too bad it was rough though! The Africa booth food looks so good. Mmm kettle corn! Ginger lime aid at the Jamaica booth sounds so intriguing. I love the rum cake! Good idea with the slaw on the slider! I’ve never had rice pudding but I looove coconut. Another fantastic video you guys! Sorry we are so behind and have been MIA! Hope you both are doing great! 😊💕

Haha to be fair, horchata is traditionally served with a splash of rum, and part of what I love about Busch's seasonal horchata offering is that it stands on its own without the alcohol. So although it is a crowd favorite in our circle, it may not be what a _true_ enthusiast would consider "real" horchata 😉 Naturally, the coasters are there year round, but Busch Gardens really does go all out for Food & Wine season, and we _love_ visiting during that spring/early summer window so that we can sample all of the snacks! I grew up going to BG my whole life, every other weekend (I remember when Griffin originally was a car ride where you drove around in these old school cars on a track!)… really want to go back as you can tell by me watching hahaha but my kids love watching Busch Gardens vlogs and they keep telling me it looks so fun and they want to go! 😁

Ahhhh you have the leg up on us! We only started visiting in 2021, but since that time we've spent each and every day wishing that it was truly our "home park". We typically visit four times a year, or once per season, and it is always such a vibe! I’m sooo excited to get up there and ride the new and improved Nessie sometime soon. I’m glad to hear all the good reviews about it, although it may be rough. Food & Wine is my favorite time of year at BGW, bummer I won’t make it up there this year. Africa looked awesome. I thought that music sounded familiar 🤣 Great vlog guys!

Nessie was always rough, so it's not necessarily a dealbreaker that it remains rough after the reimagining. I think after having been on some of the old Arrows overseas that had since been refitted with Vekoma trains, we've just been spoiled by smoother ride experiences and didn't set our expectations correctly. 😂 The theming is incredible and well worth the time Busch spent on it, so it's definitely worth a revisit even if it's a bit of a rattler! Africa was likely our favorite booth this year, the food was great and the vibes were a 10/10. Hope to catch you up here next year, Zoe! Thanks for watching! ✨

We were there for the last weekend of the food and wine fest. I agree that the Loch Ness Monster was way too rough. Definitely needed advil afterwards. I had passed by the aviary tons of times before I saw that people were in there. I thought it was a paid tour, but thankfully my boyfriend asked and found out anyone could go in. $5 for the nectar was more than worth it. So stinkin' cute. I highly recommend riding Verbolten at sunset. The view is so pretty. I'll have to ride it at night next time; it looked great. Thanks for the fun content!

Glad we weren't the only ones who found Loch Ness to be a bit rough despite the long refurb! The theming makes it well worth the experience, but it's definitely one of those attractions that you have to almost brace for 😂 We've done Verbolten at Sunset as well, but our personal preference is for the night rides! It's much easier to see the dark ride elements in the Black Forest when there's no sunlight filtering in through the cracks in the building, and it genuinely feels like the ride is faster after dark! We can feel riding Griffon since we know all the twists and turns. I'm with Katie, I see a wall 😂 Katies face was priceless on Lochness! Love the new theming! Bummer it's rougher :( Bobotie is so good! Have had it at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The music you're hearing is indeed from AK. cause they also play it at BGT by Cheeta Hunt and we had pointed it out too! Good catch! We actually thought the tacos were pretty great 😉 But we are known to be pretty easy to please when it comes to food. That said, the horchata is something that we look forward to every year. I actually got two more cups off-camera over the course of the day haha as someone who doesn't often drink, I like that Busch's version stands on its own without the traditional splash of rum. As far as Loch Ness, we're wondering if maybe it was a localized issue for the specific train that we were assigned. We've heard so many people laud the reimagining for being smoother and were surprised to find ours so much rougher! I think we'll have to give it another go to see if it was an isolated experience. I also really like that the new GoPro has a higher contrast 😁 The Hero10 was giving me a smidge of buyer's remorse with its flatter imaging, and the Hero12 is right back to form offering a better image at the higher resolution(s). Obviously we failed to leverage the microphone properly, but we'll learn as we go haha thanks for watching, you guys! ✨
