What enhancements, additions and/or changes were made between the Loch Ness Monster's original 1978 iteration and the 2024 reimagining? We had the pleasure of riding the attraction just before it closed in 2023 and shortly after the reopening in 2024, and were able to get a front-row POV of each experience. Today we're putting them side-by-side for you to see the differences between the two!
Continually rated a favorite by park guests, this classic interlocking, double-looping steel roller coaster gives guests a peek at Scotland’s most infamous serpent. “Nessie” hurls its passengers along 3,240 feet of steel track into the air, over water, and through a dark cave - now complete with newly reimagined theming and narrative elements. This original coaster, which opened in 1978, is a registered landmark with the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) organization.
Both of these 4K 30FPS Front Row POV's were captured using a GoPro Hero 8 via park-approved wrist strap. Please be sure to consult the FAQ's on the Busch Gardens Williamsburg website to qualify any ride cameras, and acquire a park-issued camera card before boarding any attraction.
