Hi amanda, a little note on simba. Never spray him with water, it will cause a bad reaction from him as he gets used to you. I have cats and tried this and noticed it affected their behaviour towards me. Maybe get him a massive cat tree he can perch on. You can also get ones that stick to the windows because cats love sitting and sleeping in the sunshine!. I hope that helps, much love sister!. 🙏

Sounds like the most beautiful honeymoon! And such a wonderful(less crowded) time of year! HIGHLY recommend doing some sort of semi private sunset sail/cruise in santorini. It’s such an amazing way to see the whole island and volcano and the crews make the most DELICIOUS simple Greek meal, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, to this day. You can usually book through your hotel when you get to the island. 🤗

You can try a citrus scented spray on the counter tops to deter Simba from climbing on it, you can also use citrus spray on the armchairs in your room to stop Simba scratching those. Spraying his scratching post with catnip will encourage him to use that instead

I was in Positano last summer. One piece of advice, if you stay in a place up near the top of the cliffs, be prepared to for a long, steep climb back and forth from the village/main road below. The views are great at the top, but we were literally sweating buckets and panting so hard from our 20 minute climb to the Airbnb we stayed at.

Hi cat lover here who has stopped her cat from getting onto the kitchen counter. 1. Everytime Simba gets on the counter just firmly say NO and take him down (obviously gently). You can also tap their nose and say NO..took me a few months of this. 2. I let my cat actually have a little bit of counter space she knows is now the only bit she can go on. This is away from all the spaces I use and it is the bit with the window which she likes. 3. I've not tried this but others have and it's 100% better than spray bottle, many put kitchen foil on all the spaces they don't want the cat to jump on. Remove kitchen foil eventually when he stops jumping onto those spaces. 4. Cats do like high spaces and jumping so might be good to get him his own things like a big high cat tree that he can climb. 5. He needs his own stratching posts, a few around the house and eventually he will stop scratching your furniture. Please makesure he is neutered before you let him out. He is safer at home though if I'm honest.

Amanda maybe you should try getting your cat a special bed like little fluffy cushion with some toys maybe then he will get used to it.

I can’t get my cats off the counter either! I have a huge cat tree, doesn’t help…my friend recommended tape and putting it sticky side up around the edges for a bit, haven’t tried yet but may give it a shot

i see that some people already suggested it, But for simba, it really is a good idea to get him a cat tree. and even put catnip on it so he will go on it rather than the counter/furniture.

I have an orange tabby as well. It's hard to keep cats off surfaces as they like to climb on things (and don't like to listen lol.) I agree with the comment about the cat tree, cats love those and if he has his own space, he may be less likely to climb on other surfaces.

hehe I have two orange cats and they basically make up their own rules. Simba seems so similar to my two little guys. I try all of the things to get them off the counter and stop scratching the couch but they do it anyways 😭 but I love them so much soooo I'm just like - you win. The things we do for them! haha. If you find something that works definitely let us know!

Don’t have experience with cats but my instinct says that if you but something sticky all over the counter (same color) that would shock Simba and he’ll avoid the counter

I could never hav a pet in my house as thy make too mucb mess and im scardd of them!!! Also I would never get a white bed & white bed covers/ chairs as they get dirty quick! I dont mind if the bedding has white with other colours with it. Enjoy ur family tym & stay strong!!! Xxx

If your yard isn't fenced please don't let your cat out. You can get a harness/collar and a leash and walk with the cat outside. So many cats get hit by cars or lost 💔

Cats hate tin foil. We put some on our counters - they jumped up and then RAN away, and never tried it again! (You can take the tin foil off after that haha) Maybe that will work for Simba!
