Another great vlog! I'm really loving your content at the moment Fleur! I am one of those grumpy people who complained a while back about your content getting stale. I along with others felt your channel had become too focused on monthly favourites and "new in" videos, with very little variety. I know that must have been quite hard for you to hear, but rather than getting defensive, I think you took note of people's comments and have quietly made changes to your channel. Now there is lots of variety, with something for everyone! Thank you!
I really like how natural and real your vlogs are, you don't come across as false or fake and you show us clips of your genuine life. Its refreshing to see other families just getting on with lockdown like all of us are x
River is so adorable! I love your weekend vlogs, just enjoyed this one with a cup of tea! I have a 20months old so always nice to see how other fellow mummy's spend their time! 😊Fleur, I'm sure you've been asked before but please can you do a vlog on some of the dishes you serve little River? Am very low on inspiration this end! Thanks! X
Aw, I love seeing you and mike as parents. I’m obsessed with your garden as well. It’s like a park! Question about squidge outside on her own, does she ever wander off? Or does she stay close to the house? Just curious! Love your doggies as well 💕
Fleur, I just wanted to say thank you for posting your home vlogs. I've been through some really tough times in my career and family life, and felt like everything is pure black in my eyes. I neglected your vlogs for quite some time just and I don't even know why (I'm a long time subscriber), but I could never be more glad that I decided to click on your vlog this morning. It's like those bleeding wounds in my heart are are slowly healing up. Thank you for the light and courage you and Mike gave me. Sending you loads fo love.
Must say, really loving having these vlogs back in my life. They might not be the "glamorous" or exciting ones you might've had planned, but there's something so relaxing and heartwarming about what you share. Thanks and keep taking good care of each other!
I did not think this was boring at all!! I always seem to have a permanent smile on my face when I watch your vlogs, I love them. Lunch looked good, I need to chef it up more and do stuff like that, I wouldn't even think to put all those things together LOL! You guys are so adorable. I hope you continue to do these as you can, I love them and look forward to them. We are still in lockdown (ish) in certain parts of the States, my husband and I have both been working from home since mid March, and it seems like that will continue for at least another month or two per our respective companies. I don't normally comment on Mike, as I know everyone usually does, but he looked so handsome getting ready to go back to work! Thanks for sharing again, Fleur!!
It’s so nice! I feel like it is not common for them to nap that long but both my 3 year old and 5 year old sleep from 2-4:30 and still sleep great through the night. I think if they want to keep napping let them! Haha
My 2 1/2 year old takes 3 hour naps too. Mine is still in her crib though. That means your doing a great job at entertaining her and providing lots of stimulation. Taking her outside and having her run around helps. My daughter goes outside everyday!
Your vlogs make me so happy! I was really stressed out by school today and I decided to take a break and watch your vlog. Am feeling much better now, thank you Fleur ❤️
Your vlogs are one of the best parts of my week! Love you and your beautiful family, Fleur!❤️ Ps. Was there ever a conclusion on wallpapering the ceiling?😂
2-5pm nap is amazing! My son at 2.5 does about 2 hours in the afternoon but I sense it might need to go soon as his falling asleep at night keeps getting later and later. Toddler life without naps...yikes! 🤣
So lovely to unwind after a particularly intense day working at home, with one of your amazingly relaxing & homely vids, thank you I really needed this today....wonderful stuff 🥰👌☀️❤
3 hours for a 2&1/2 year old is a long time!! I work in a two year old room in a nursery and we tend to put ours down between 12:30 and 1 and they are all up by 2:30 latest and tbh a lot have actually dropped their naps all together so we have a larger number left awake or we did before lockdown
Yeah when she was going to nursery the longest time she would sleep would be 1.5 hours... but the timings of nursery to home were SO different, I’m surprised she was so good at just slipping between the routines but she seemed to do it quite easily 🤷🏼♀️😂
I know it would be quite bold but I would love to see a video on your parenting philosophies. I’d like to know if there were ideas you had before she was born that may have evolved or those that have stayed the same.
I love River, she's so funny, especially when dealing with Creepy Baby! Thanks so much for the content during these times, its really nice to feel like we have some contact with the outside, especially as I am having to stay inside! Nice to see MDF and his dry humour too.
That's amazing having River nap like that! My son naps for an hour, occasionally almost 2 hours but if he's asleep past 1pm bedtime is so late! He needs a 7 hour gap from end of nap to his bedtime. That's great that you'll have that much needed time to yourself when Mike is back in work! 💚 Gonna try the lemon muffin recipe tomorrow 🍋😁
I have 5 kids and they all slept so well and I put them all on same schedule. From when they went from 1 nap a day until kindergarten, they all slept from 1 pm to 3:30-4 pm, then in bed by 7 to 7:30 and they slept until about 8-8:30 am.
My baby is a similar age to River, he had a 2/3 hour nap every day from 12.30 but around 2 months ago he started refusing his nap so he naturally transitioned out of it himself, he occasionally falls asleep for a short nap if we are out in the car but oh how I miss those long day time naps x
Oh gosh you did the hardest way to cut a pineapple haha. Cut the end and top. Flip so it’s sitting on its bottom. Then slice all the skin off from top to bottom. Then either flip onto side to cut into somewhat circles or cut down and make strips when it’s upwards still. 😁
My kids only ever used to have one 20 minutes nap a day. By 1.5 years even that went away so no naps at all. Consider yourself very fortunate to have a toddler nap for so long! Having me time is so necessary but almost impossible when you're a mum
River is adorable! We loved her changing her baby dolls. We loved seeing the puppies. We are going for a ride tomorrow to see Espanola near Santa Fe. It's about 45mins from here Albuquerque. The weather here is cooler then Tucson, which we like. Nice vlog Fleur. Joan and Keith Bates
My son is 3 years old next month and he takes an afternoon nap also, later in the day just like River! I’m totally into it and neeeeed it for my mental health. Can’t imagine the day when he drops his nap and I won’t get a break.
Yes that is a looong nao! My third baby is 20 months and very close to dropping his nap. The older two dropped theirs before their second birthday so you are very very lucky! My hubby is a dairy farmer working 13 hour days. I am slowly going insane 😂
My nearly 3 year old stopped naps at 2 years 2 months but works for us and sleeps well at night, no early wake ups. They are all different but you may find in next month's that you may need to cut back on the nap gradually e.g to an hour.
My little boy dropped his nap at the start of lock down... he used to sleep for an hour but it’s amazing what you can get done in that time... now we don’t have it and it’s HARD!
That is a loooong nap!! Make the most of it - when my little girl was 2.5 she suddenly dropped her naps completely (just in time for the arrival of her baby sister 😫🙄)!
Very lucky with the nap! My daughter is just a couple weeks younger than River, she decided to ditch her nap as lockdown started!! I'm forcing it on her every other day but have to wake her after an hour, or she's too wired at bedtime!!
Definitely super lucky with napping and sleep. My own 2 yrs and a half old just quit on napping 2 weeks into lockdown (we live in Italy so just about half march) and now if she naps her hours will be mad (sleeping at 1 am and stuff like that). So, yeah, you are a lucky mummy for having a toddler who naps 😅
River's imported dress is so adorable. I don't care for Aubergine(we call it egg plant in the states) either. I really wished I did! What's your next project in the home you would love to accomplish? Thanks for sharing with us.
My daughter is 5 months older than river and slept from 2-4 every afternoon until about a month ago and now she goes to her room and has rest time and plays quietly but naps infrequently. She still likes the down time though
When my youngest daughter was a baby, she's 12 now, she used to sleep for 60 minutes EXACTLY every, single, day. Without. Fail. In the car, on a walk, at home ect, right up until she was about 3 or 4!!! She'd wake up on her own, after 60 mins exactly, no matter what time she fell asleep (I am talking about her mid-day nap here), I still can't quite get over it but yup! You could set your watch by it.
If you reduced her afternoon nap you might find she will go to bed very easily for you around 7 and sleep better and longer at night. My little boy used to nap between 1.5 and 3 hours in afternoon and tbh bedtime took 1.5 or 2 hours to settle him. He now is asleep in ten mins and sleeps 12 hours. I do miss his nap but i now have more downtime in evening, bedtime is way easier and i feel like he is getting a better night sleep
Some children just need more sleep than others! I nannied two little girls and the older one needed no naps in her last year of nursery, aged 6. Her sister, however, was still napping in her last year of nursery, aged 5 ( she was young for her year). She would sometimes sleep from 1.30/2 until 4/4.30!
I'm fascinated reading about children's sleeping habits here! I've had sleeping issues my entire life, couldn't nap as a child and didn't go to bed at night until probably between 10pm-12am even as a very young child. (My family wasn't purposely keeping me up that late - I just could not fall asleep no matter what they did). I'm so surprised by children going to sleep as early as 6pm!
I loved this vlog. So cozy and homey! It is great to see how others are living too. We are in the Bay Area in California and are just entering phase 2, so some restrictions lifted, but most things are still closed. It feels safer right now to stay closer to home.
It's a rule with toddlers: the later they go to bed, especially later than what they are used to, the earlier they wake up because it breaks the rythm of what they are used to. My mom used to tell me "put her to bed later so she sleeps in" - and then she was surprised when we put her to bed earlier and got more sleep in the morning😅 Plus people say "don't let her nap so she won't wake up early" but actually often the more sleep they get the better they sleep.
A nap 2-5! Wow! My 2 year old wouldn’t go to bed til 11 if she did that ! She has max 2 hours . But my little one is a rubbish sleeper and only began to nap for more than 40 mins when she went to one nap!
Loving the weekend vlogs!! Re River's nap - yes sounds like a long time and late in the day for her age. Probably will affect her nighttime sleep. I've cut my little boys nap down to get him in bed earlier in the evening... However I am TOTALLY with you, a break is necessary!
Sometimes the early wakings are due to oversleeping during the day 1.5-2.5 hours is roughly an average time for a toddler around that age to nap. My gf's daughter would sleep all day if she could! (she's around the same age as Riv) X
My daughter always woke up early when she didn't sleep enough - didn't nap well or didn't go to bed early enough. The later she went to bed the earlier she would wake up the next day and it's the same for many toddlers.
You're very lucky with the long afternoon nap Fleur ^_^ If my 19 month old wakes later than noon he won't go to sleep until very very late and his nap for that reason had to be cut to 1.5h
That’s a very long nap for a 2.5 year old, I’d call that a danger nap, especially since she doesn’t wake til 5pm. An hour would be better, that way a 7:30pm bedtime is achievable & you get your evenings as your down time 💜
