VN24 - 04-09-2023 (D/M/Y) - Kamener Kreuz A1 / Germany - In this horror accident on the A1 freeway near Kamen, the drivers involved were miraculously only slightly injured. The 22-year-old driver of a truck with Bulgarian registration apparently overlooked an end of a traffic jam around 11:30 a.m. just a few hundred meters from the spot where a similar but tragic accident occurred on 01.06.2023 and caused a mass accident. With apparently not slowed down speed he hit a white VW Golf in southbound direction, pushed it onto a black OPEL Insignia. This was pressed against the rear of a flatbed truck and the flatbed truck was finally pressed against a tanker truck for food. The two passenger cars were pushed to the side in the collision and landed partially in the guardrail. Only the drivers were seated in each of the vehicles involved. The 27-year-old Golf driver, the 39-year-old OPEL driver, and the 34-year-old driver of the flatbed truck each suffered only minor injuries, the same as the suspected driver of the truck who caused the accident. The driver of the tanker escaped uninjured. The recovery company Kollmer was called in with four tow trucks. A heavy aluminum toolbox that had come loose from the loading area of the flatbed truck had to be recovered by crane.
