This song was a last minute replacement by the producers of the contest. She was in the middle of learning songs in Mandarin for another performance and had only 24 hours to prepare Say Something. She had to get her guitar player from Manila to China and he was doing a concert just before his plane left Manila. They had no time to practice with the stage band which is why the band is minimal in this performance. Considering all that, this was an amazing performance. Spine chills for me. Cheers!

May nakalimutan ka, may sinabi din yung host para ma discourage ang mga chinise kay kz, gaya ng hindi daw ginamit ni kz yung magagaling nilang band mas pinili pa daw ni kz na mag dala ng sariling guitarists. dahil sa mga pinag sasabi ng host tungkol kay kz kaya hindi sya nanalo.

Ah yes! This performance is so so so good. She flew her guitsrist Makoy Portado (mah-koi) to be with her during this performance. I believe they arranged this and it's so haunting painful this performance is. But so so so good at the very same time. KZ doesn't have the highest belting voice out of all the singers in the Philippines but that doesn't matter because she is no other than KZ!!!! So happy you've discovered her Doc and yes, check out her "Rolling In The Deep" performance in the same show. This is her 2nd or 3rd performance of this competition. Cheers.

I really loved this version of this song, because it can make me "feel" , the way she sang the song lets you imagine how a heart broken person is when they are in their most vulnerable state, that they almost beg for the person to stay or at least give them a reason to hold on.

Wholeheartedly agree with Bryant Park - apart from the two additional songs in that Chinese program, “The Singer,” and FEELING GOOD, which she sings with the astounding Jaya, do watch KZ perform her original composition, the very jazzy and soulful NAGIISA NA NAMAN (Alone Again, with subtitles) on the Wishbus.

Sadly, this video to which you reacted is the one where the singing and the guitar-playing are out of sync. There’s one-the “right” one-where it’s synced. KZ really did a wonderful job in her performance of this song. I’m glad you’ve found and featured her on your channel. Thank you!💗

Great analysis of one of my favorite singers. KZ had vocal polyps as a teenager and the surgery fro them left her unable to use the highest part of her vocal range without risking further damage, so she works in her lower registers to allow herself to hit the higher notes in what she sings. So, singing a song with limited range like this one is right up her alley and she's accustomed to making songs like that vocally interesting. You are right, she's very short, shorter than anyone I've seen her work with (and that's most of the singers in The Philippines). Based on KZ being an inch or two shorter than the sisters in 4th Impact, who are all right around 5 feet tall, I estimate that KZ is about 4 feet 10 inches (1.47m). Jessie J was there as a competitor that season and was the winner. As the only English speaking contestants on the show, KZ and Jessie J quickly became friends. Jessie J was one of KZ's idols (KZ was completely starstruck to meet her - almost couldn't speak). At the end, when they went their separate ways, Jessie's parting words were to tell KZ she was a star and to never doubt that. If you're interested, they did perform together on the final episode. Jessie J sang Bang Bang with KZ and Coco Lee (a previous winner on The Singer). Please do her version of “see you again“ and then her version of “rolling in the deep“. The one on “the singer“, though you could watch the one on the wish bus afterward if you want. That’s who totally different versions of the same song.

First thing Inoticed when putting through my W-King X10 on iMac (compared to iMac sound much better).is how amazing clear your sound quality comes over. There is a synched version out there. This one unfortunately has KZ and the guitar not synched together at all not just the guitar and the video. Try looking for that version.

This is actually the wrong video. The vocals are a half beat ahead of the melody. I think there was some technical issues with the video and they posted the correctly timed audio.
