Rain was the first live concert I ever saw when I wad 15! I begged my parents to teke me to vegas cuz he was having a concert there and now 15 years later I'm turning 30 and hes coming back to vegas and I get to see him again! 🥹💕 he is incredibly talented and entertaining! His live shows are out of this world. Another out of this world performer is Xia Junsu. He's easily the best vocalist I've ever heard live! His Killing Voice is definitely worth a listen.

Just a little tmi, Rain is the solo goat artist at the kpop industry. And he came from an agency jyp entertainment which it's boss jyp himself was Rain's mentor and boss also. Rain is one of my favourite performers. He's primarily known for his dancing (objectively he's one of the best dancers to ever come out of Korean pop) but I was really impressed when this video came out because his singing has improved significantly (I'm not a professional but he audibly has more control over his voice these days). I totally agree with you that while his singing isn't of the topmost calibre (e.g. the riff stuff you discussed), it works for what he's trying to achieve. It's fun to see you balance technical analysis with lighthearted moments, I enjoyed all the times you laughed at his cheesiness (he certainly is, but endearingly so). In terms of your opinions on the more melodically simple/repetitive songs, I agree but I felt like some context is missing: those (e.g. rainism, it's raining, etc.) are some of the songs where the choreography which he must perform at the same time is significantly more complicated.
Really interesting for you to actually explain at 17:23 about how he's using those "huh" sounds to support note changes, it's kind of a signature thing for him and many fellow JYP Company artists because the company founder (who's also a singer who directs much training) greatly prefers a "breathy"/"airy" sound. I've never done any serious voice training and didn't know that was necessarily a technical thing as opposed to a stylistic preference.
