honestly i think this version wasn't the best because the effects, there was another one that personally i think was better, and there was more harmonizing

You're right about Jin he really stand up in this song and all of their Japanese songs.

Actually when they did this performance LIVE in an online showcase, it got a trouble for the audio, so when it got REPLAYED, the sound engineering team had to fixed the audio of them singing with adding more effect/background vocals/original music to cover the trouble audio. There is another better live performance of this song that showcase their vocal ability clearer. I would have expected u reacted to that performance. But yeah, thx for this reaction 🙏🏻

In my opinion, I don't think that the emotion they wanted to deliver is pain, but rather a type of feeling you get when you're about to fall in despair but at the same time you're still reaching out for those last sparkles of hope.

They did so many live performances of this same song, and each performance was sung differently. There are 2 better versions. The cdtv (first live performance of the song) was very well sung but has too much effects applied to their vocals. Its not the boys' fault. please react to BTS on Armypedia, I think it would showcase their voices and their singing abilities to you as a vocal coach much better than the other videos you have reacted to. I think in the past you picked videos that probably weren't the best especially this one, I would recommend watching the video with the highest number of views when you search for performance videos, ARMY tends to watch and rewatch performance videos a lot. Or instead of looking for them just use the links people leave in the comments, these are usually the best versions we as ARMY can find(i know it can be a bit overwhelming)

Jimin's high notes are not just trying to raise the high notes, but the emotions and soul of the actor acting intensely or sadly, which always touches my heart and adds a unique tone, leaving a lingering impression in my ears. Jin is seen only trying to succeed in high notes compared to Jimin, so the message of the song does not reach him, so it would be good to see and hear if his expression becomes more sophisticated by practicing facial expressions or gestures. In addition, Jin's high note has a stronger tearing sound than softness.

This was originally broadcasted live on Japan with BTS in SK. The audio wasn't great so the sound team "fixed it" in post. For future reactions I recommend asking ARMY which performances to watch. They can help you. 💜

I think you should watch them singin in run bts episod or bts in karaoke. You will get shock by hearing their raw/pure voice and they totally can chance their voice. Jungkook(main vocal) - can reach high note in any kind of situation and way. Would shook that he can do that. His lung and breathing style is so good Jimin - so unique and a bit feminine voice until it's hard to say that it is a human voice. Please listen it raw Jin - increadible high note especially in dionysus and crystal snow. His voice really match in japanese song V - deep voice. Unique and increadible high note in stigma. Best falsetto and vocal chance. He love to make a chill song using his deep voice and sometime his growl voice. Rm(rapper) - can rap in singging tone. Jhope(rapper)- totally can sing and rap. There is a performance of them standing which gives the emotional feeling of the song. I definitely agree with autotune. I prefer to here more of their real true tone (even if they squeak or are off). I don't mind when artists mess up or are off tune if I know they are truly live without anything else. I love BTS though, so it probably wouldn't matter what they do at this point, I'll like it . There is another performance of this that isn't quite as polished and I think it's more gritty and emotional

Some asian tv shows add more effects than others to singers live performances to make the audio smoother, this one in particular added a lot. It bothers me quite a bit too, because their voices are so unique so when they get smoothed out, it erases a lot of the unique voice quality. Especially with Jimin who does a lot of falsetto flips and vocal fries which I love a lot but tv shows don't so they just smooth them out and I am always ready to flip tables. Lmao there’s no effects on it, only a backing track (btw they have performed this song without it), when you watched Blackpink performances it was like you didn’t even notice how heavy their backtrack was to the point you can’t hear their real voices (not saying it’s the girls’ fault tho) but if it’s bts you try to make up every reason that it’s not their actual voices( I’m just disappointed that you’re so unprofessional and biased

Yeah, I noticed the effects as soon as JK and Jim came in-- I prefer no or less effects too, especially since I know they don't need it. It's common in pop, though, which is actually why I don't usually like pop lmao. I prefer the natural and more raw voices

we don't "hate" your videos because you're truthful. we don't like them bc it seems like you're more focused on catching them mess up than analyzing the performances.

I recommend watching other live performance compilation or just simply other live performance. There are other YET live performance and you may try listening to it again, I think the other performance are much better tho. 😁

And about the auto-tune I've seen other shows do this to not only them but other kpop artists as well , where in actual reality( except for the part where they raise the volume of the mic) what they do is on the live broadcast, BTS will sing live with their raw voices and then when it's re-uploaded onto the internet the editors will add auto tune onto their voices( there are things like fan cams which support this fact), but I heard that this specific video was for a showcase and when this was actually live something went wrong with the audio? Something around those lines, so in this case they did it to fix the issue.

They actually had heaps of audio issues with this particular version, there's a few other versions that have a much more natural sound. Liked the review 😊

I really enjoy your BTS reaction videos. IMHO you are very truthful and accurate in your critiques. I feel like a lot of vocal coach reactors are afraid of offending ARMYs so they are hesitant to give their honest professional opinions. I know you keep saying you get a lot of pushback from ARMYs and boy, ain’t that the truth! I wish more ARMYs would understand that it is in no way an insult to say that a singer uses Auto Tune or effects or backing vocals. The entire music industry does it. There is no way that any singer could be 100% on point, all the time and that’s totally ok. BTS is my favorite group and I think they are phenomenal singers but I also acknowledge that they are human.

There is another live, the first that they actually uploaded, and in that you can hear that they have no effect and they are completely singing. I even think you'll like them more, because they sound even better.

They performed it live on tv so there are some technical issue so it was released after improving technical issue

For me I think to analize is better the other live because we can hear clearer their voices

i always have fun hearing j-hope’s verses, because i feel like he often combines rapping and singing, or just when he raps it’s kinda sing-song-y, which is also what makes his style unique and why he’s one of my favourite voices out of all the rappers i listen to.

Okay that super close to mouth thing is done , so that volume coming from them is according to the song, and same volume will give them the same feel of the song, because singers who move their mics up and down might not be projecting the same volume throughout the song, and then the audio engineers would have to increase or decrease the volume

I know I'm a little late so hopefully you have checked out the other live performance they did right before this one. It was the debut of the song and it was so raw and emotional. Beautiful.i didn't care for the performance as much mainly because the backtrack they used didn't really fit at times.There is no auto tune used in this version or the other one. Backtrack, yes.In this version but I was a little surprised that you thought auto tune especially the part you first mentioned it. Jimin is clearly singing over a backtrack of himself and also their mics were turned down it sounded like. Also, mic placement is important but I've had to hold my mic closer when I normally wouldn't because of the sound system that was used, or person operating it. Jimin almost always holds his closer. It really depends on how powerful your voice actually is on its own.I had to learn mic control mmediately otherwise I would've blown a speaker,(or eardrums). I have a pretty strong chest voice so mic control was key. Also, I am not saying any of this because I am a fan.Its just from what I learned in school and from performing. I don't hate this version, but I really do not like it. It's sung beautifully, but the sound engineers really messed up with the song and I believe it caused their vocals to be drowned and muffled. The original first version they sang, the sound engineers did wonderfully and it is so much clearer.

this version had technical issues with sounds that day, you should check the other performance.

Usually their tour performances are more raw so I recommend reacting to some of those, like their legendary House of Cards performance. Ok you know I love your analysis/reactions - especially to BTS - but what bothers me is that I'm not even 5 minutes in and already got three ads, two of which I couldn't skip. I know it's good for you but it's kinda irritating 😖 Yeah I hear the autotune, which I don't mind too much but I did like their first live version better. It wasn't good video quality but imo better with the autotune 🤷 I do believe this live version was for a specific event so they kinda had to have it "perfect" hence the effects (?) Hey this is a live stream & it didn't get the quality of their vocals. They absolutely killed it. Listen another live performances of this song they nailed it with pure live vocals. There is no effect that's live stream of that channel didn't work well. So they may use effect to make it better. But no bts your eyes tell is one of my favourite bcuz they killed it
