I am not sure that I got the "best" of Mike Patton in this compilation. I would welcome some suggestions for what might be a more representative selection of what Mike Patton can do vocally.

Like others have said this isn’t really a good representation of Mike Patton as a vocalist but more so him as the erratic person that he tends to be when he performs (which I personally love)! I hope you revisit him because he really is musically gifted. This compilation ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sShqwtCaxsM.html doesn’t show everything he’s capable of but it it a better representation of his talents. I believe I read somewhere that he can sing 6 octaves. That’s being said I love your channel and it was still a great reaction! Happy to be a long time subscriber! 😀

I came here tonight cuz I saw you were looking at Ren. In the past 6 months I have discovered Mike Patton and now Ren. I grew up in the 60s and 70s in really felt like there was no more music. mike is considered not ONE OF THE most but THE most versatile singer. he usually picks like a certain voice/mood on a song and then is very diferent on another. this changes move exponentially when he is performing as a solo artist or in one of his many projects. it's like he has a different face for everything. a good song to start his journey would be Midlife Crisis from Faith No More, which shows a tiny bit of his vast vocal vocabulary. some other songs that could give you a good idea of what he can do is his cover Easy (chill patton) from Faith No More, too and Der Golem (agro patton) from one of his projects Fantômas. he has much more wilder songs than this ones but not everything he does is easy to digest. while he is a great singer, he is an artist above all. stay away from compilation vids until you understand mike patton. for someone who doesnt understand his art it will just feel as a weird funny character.

I've only watched the first few minutes here this and I am so excited that you're discovering Mike Patton. I only discovered him of the last couple of months and am totally blown away. You hit the nail on the head... He does not care... In a good way. If no one's cleaned you in yet though the sandwich interview as it's known goes way way back and he first took over as lead singer with Faith No More. A sandwich interview... He is saying all that with the utmost sarcasm anti-an cheek that he can muster. Hilarious. B that part of this not caring and kind of attitude is why I too have never heard of Mike his first album with them they won the album of the year. If they had done with the studio said they could have gone to Great heights. They produced another wonderful album but is completely different than anything they had done.. each song something completely different. That is pretty much how my patent rolls he is done everything. Use honor band with high school call mr. Bungle that he still plays with. You found a character that's for sure.

Mike has a huge overall range, but there are still several singers who have both a bigger overall range and a much bigger functional range than Mike. Dimash is probably the most well-known one of those (he's not that famous in the West, but really famous in Asia and Russia)
@luamoliveira3467
@luamoliveira3467 7 месяцев назад
@@JasminGardenia Dimash is so overrated, firstly he doesn't have a more functional range than Mike Patton and not even close, Mike has a fabulous greater spectrum of vocal colors, has explored many more different musical styles and has sung all types of musical genres and even a little bit of Opera, you really know absolutely nothing about Mike Patton's vocal structure and general range, Dimash in my opinion is an extremely better and more professional singer than Patton and many others but he was not more versatile and explored all registers and different vocal colors like Patton.

Mike Patton was such a troll before the term was coined. That whole 3 and a half hour recording of the Angel Dust sessions is full of Patton troll moments! 😆 BTW, the interviews with Patton where he talks about computers taking over music is from 1991-92. It's part of a documentary you can noe find on RU-vid. The Making Of Angel Dust. MTV recorded hours of material, condensed it into a less than 10 minute blip on the channel, and the rest of the footage wound up in bootleg form. Again, the whole thing is on RU-vid.

The fact that someone titled this video “The Best of Mike Patton” highlights his comments about people. It should be “Mike Patton Clowning Around” or “Mike Patton Doing Everything OTHER Than Actually Taking The Song Seriously”. I think it would be best to check out one of his vocal videos to get a grasp of his varied styles and range. As you noticed Mike doesn't care and just goes out to do whatever he feels like. He is known to be a troll in interviews and you don't know if he's being serious or just having a laugh.

@ƬЄXƬ OƝ 𝐓𝐞𝐈𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦👉Ken_Lavigne this is one I'd suggest as it's live and a good exploration of his diversity ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3kBL2Ctb4a4.html

Mike was right about A.I. music in this sense, A.I. generated music exposes how formulaic most music has become.
