Who am I?
Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

I love Lady Adele so much but Carrie Underwood is a hell of a vocalist. In my all-time top five. She has such range and power in her voice. I am really looking forward to this because I have not seen ANY weak performances by Carrie or Lady Adele. Hopefully she will release new music soon. Excellent choice, Georgina!!

A lot of those clips were from Carrie's Idol journey...before her voice had matured. she is much better now. This outcome is perfect though. Carrie is one of the best vocalists on the planet. Much better vocalist.

Thank you so much for doing this video! I can't for the life of me understand why more vocal coaches don't react to Carrie Underwood - she's amazing. (And I actually think they could've picked better clips of Carrie. Comparing Adele during the "Hello" era to Carrie's earliest days competing on Idol is kinda unfair.)

Both really are fantastic singers. I love and have seen both live. They are both powerhouses. I love how much you appreciate Carries talent. I wanted to point out that Carries clips had a wide time range, recent clips all the way back to her American idol days. Adeles seemed to be heavily from her 25 Album era. I wonder if that played a role.

Haha! As the individual that created this video (over 3 YEARS ago, mind you), I'm going to take a second just to dispel some of the stupidity and misinformation that is being spewed here. I did this video as a request. Going into the video - yes, I already knew that Carrie had an edge over Adele in the upper-belt. The fact is, neither Adele nor Carrie is known for having great technique. So, since Carrie has the higher voice-type, I knew right off the bat that she was going to have "home-field advantage," so to speak, since the majority of the video is belts. For that reason, I actually made a specific point to NOT use Carrie's absolute greatest vocal moments, and instead opted to use clips from when her voice was in its least-developed state (American Idol). I did this to sort of level the playing-field between the two, to make it a more fair and balanced comparison. I used the best possible Adele clips I could find. I searched wide and deep, and pulled the majority of the notes selected for her from FAN COMPILATIONS of her vocals. So, where exactly is the bias? Lol. Perhaps Adele just isn't as great as many of you seem to think she is? I mean, these are in fact her GREATEST belting moments. If she had a sustained belt for a specific note, I used it. If she didn't have one, I obviously couldn't invent one, right? She only has a belted Eb5 in "When We Were Young" ... what other clip would you have liked me to use? That's literally ALL she had! Same with the E5s in "Someone Like You" ... that is the closest thing she has to an E5 belt. So, maybe next time do your research before you accuse someone of selecting clips in a biased fashion.

Both voices are fairly easy to listen to, but personally I prefer Adele because in my opinion her voice has a lot more depth, and she conveys a lot of emotion through her singing.

My son, when he was at school, had the same music teacher as Adele. Adele's former teacher said she did not sound anything like she does now. The teacher said as a teen, Adele was heavy smoking and ruined her voice back then. He said she must have had years & years of singing lessons but wondered if she would retain it due to said smoking.

Carrie has way more range than Adele. Adele has been marketed as this Mama Cass for this generation. By the looks of things Adele can't hold a high note very long, she's just all deep vocals which smooth listeners love.

I didn’t know Carrie sings so good. Huge belting voice. However I love the raspiness of Adels voice. She had vocal cord surgery. I think some of those strained clips were right before she had the surgery. Adele is def my pick for better singer

Georgina, with all due respect ... what the hell are you talking about?? Carrie didn't even make the D3. Nothing came out. She literally choked on the note. There was no tone, no support, just air. It was too low for her, and that's precisely why she never attempted that note in the song again after that. Are you sure you're really a vocal coach??

Every Adele clip of singing in a cab or driving and singing were skits on Late Night TV shows here in the U.S.. I don't see how anyone can compare Adele hitting a note for half a second in a parody or spoof on herself. Then compare it to the same note that Carrie was in full concert mode. This is a complete joke as far as the length and quality of the two artists. I've always been a country music person myself, so Carrie Underwood is well-known to me. Especially when she's doing her "angry woman" songs and that's great. But from the time I first heard Adele back in about 2011, she has given me chill bumps with her voice. Music behind it or completely acapella! Adele is on a whole different level!
