No matter what she sings, she makes it her own and she is always on point and delivers with a lot a passion. I have always been a fan of hers since I watched her on the POP Stars TV show in the late 90's.
Nicole is so beautiful and combined with her theatrical arm and hand movements I found the combining of styles fascinating and unbelievably captivating. Brought tears to my eyes 🥲
Nicole's sound in the group made people think she couldn't sing. But she actually can, I saw a clip of her singing live in a theatre production and I was blown away. She is definitely underrated.
I'm glad Nicole did it the way she did. She's phenomenal. And she made sure she didn't sing it straight or it'll just seem like a replica of the amazing Lauren Allred. So Nicole made it her own... Love Nicole... And I love ur channel so much ❤️ Ur critique is sooooo inspirational.
I love Nicole Scherzinger- she's amazing and, I agree, totally underrated! Nicole has a beautiful tone, and fantastic contol. Most important of all- I always feel it- I believe every word she sings because she shows she really believes it also.
I just have to thank Nicole to give me goosebumps every time I hear her singing. Can't bloody wait to attend Pussycat Dolls concert in London. #LOVE, from Italy
Georgina this is an absolutely fantastic unpicking of this performance. Thank you for picking up on every technique Nicole used. Really learned a great deal about her voice through this. THANK YOU. ❤️
It's the same reason I subscribed. I learned a lot about Selena's singing technique and control. I've been watching lots of vocal coaches but I always hear: good or not good. So, thank you so much for being very informative and truly honest. 😍
OMG! Thank u so much! I know I texted you on Instagram so quickly after her performance and you were the kindest as usual, and thanks for this lovely and honest reaction as usual! You’re the best! X
I honestly can't understand how she hasn't exploded into superstardom. She's just one of those people you know can sing their ass off and every once in a while performs something really nice somewhere and that's it. She should be touring the world and filling up stadiums tbh
@@nahuelma97 It doesn't matter if you can sing if what you're singing is boring. Everything Nicole has ever released as a solo artist lacks any identity or meaningful input. She's done nothing but bland pop or tried to chase trends.
I know, right? I always wondered also how come she never reached higher peaks in her career. Terrible management can destroy even the greatest potentials though . Look at Christina Aguilera’s career in the last 10 years... Totally flopped after she was a huge deal in the early 2000’s. It seems there are a few artists “chosen” to be upfront and ( to me ) it almost seems as if other big talents, that could represent competition, are never left to shine properly. Beyoncé seems to be the “chosen one“ by far, by the media. Everything she does is blown out of proportions as if she is the only talent out there and it’s obviously not so. Jennifer Hudson also can sing amazingly and she is left in the dark too.... Ciara is gorgeous and a fantastic dancer , but also she was never promoted that much. Kelly Rowland? Gorgeous, can sing ok enough... but invisible. It almost seems as if whatever competition could threaten the “chosen ones” are squashed and not lifted to the levels they could be, so the big money makers won’t be upstaged. This way it seems just a few are “oh so talented”. Truth is, there are many very talented people. Nicole is gorgeous, super- sexy, can dance and sing, and miraculously nobody thought she is bankable?! Something doesn’t add up. She could be at least at JLO’s level. So yeah, I definitely think there are sort of inner politics involved and it’s not a matter of talent what matters most. There are many very talented people.
I didn’t quite understand why she did the head voice flip on the “enough” because we all know she’s more than capable of nailing that note but still loved this performance
If not having a Musical Theatre Monday every Monday means getting as good a reaction as this then so be it! So comprehensive and well-informed. Thank you Georgina X
You're awesome! I enjoy watching your reaction video's SO much! I'm no singer, but I do love music& enjoyed learning the things I have from your reactions!
Hello Georgina! I just wanted to say that I appreciate your work, your videos have made my day during this crazy time. I know that unfortunately someone people can be quite harsh on you... But you know what... Your channel is called "Honest Vocal Coach" so you have to be honest❤️ Sending you lots of love
Sorry Georgina but your critiques are kinda off for me on this. Nicole killed it. So much more powerful and nuanced than the original. This song is incredibly hard and repetitive and Nicole really brought her element and showcased her full skills set while also making the song more dynamic. She easily moves between belted notes, head and mix voice keeping full control and using a flawless vibrato. Also she is able to go high both clean and distorted as she pleases for dramatic effect, not like a random screamer like Christina Aguilera who has totally lost her falsetto and whistle notes due to disrespecting her vocal chords with an awful technique. This is quite possible Nicole's best live performer ever. The pinnacle of her career.
I don’t understand what’s the head sound, chest sound, belt or what so ever technical terms...but whether a singer could draw me in and capture me with his or her singing and moved me is everything to me. If a pianist played 100% correct note and dynamic marking, it will be unbearable if there is no soul no feeling in the playing...Nicole’s edition is the best I heard on this song period!
Chill out guys! XD This is a vocal analysis channel, This is what this is about. If you want to listen the song itself, with no pauses and no technical observations, there is a lot o videos out there You can watch!
Literally. Loren hasn't sang it in the original key. Géorgie can criticise all she wants yet when she gets criticised like on don't call me angel on her awful vocals she turns comments off/tweets off and goes crazy. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen
@@nadiauribe6202 Vocal Analysis by someone who can't take criticism on her own awful vocals? Don't criticise others when you can't take criticism yourself
Nicole is amazing. I do agree Georgina that you can embellish this song a wee bit too much, but I think that might be just because Loren is so wonderful. Nicole is, too, with her own amazing voice and she shows that in this version. It doesn't need to be a copy or attempt of Loren.
I love Nicole’s musical theatre covers (her Don’t Cry For Me Argentina is my favorite) but this one is a bit all over the place. I don’t find the melodic changes tasteful, especially considering the emotional impact the song has personally. Like you said, she was all over in style too. Loren did a performance on David Foster’s special where she added this Beyoncé style riff just before second chorus, but because that change was isolated, creative and tasteful, it really worked.
Loren is quite talented, but Nicole overall is a much better and way healthier singer, and can shift easily from pop, to musical theatre, to classical. What people don't realize is that a "high belt" is actually singer who has mastered a mix to sound nearly no different than their belt. Nicole is AMAZING!!!!!
@@vaclavnevrtal1188 pretty voice I have a cd of her’s, she doesn’t have the power of these other singers mentioned though, Rita Ora actually I’m not sure of her work but recognize the name
Who's to say what her lane is, really? Sure, pop made her famous, but she was schooled classically, iirc, and didn't she actually play in Cats on Broadway a few years back?
Really late on this one. Somehow missed it. But G your analysis was so complex and intelligently detailed in this one. Wow. It was incredibly insightful. Particularly for a learning singer.
Whether a singer could capture the listener and stir up the emotion is the separation of a good and a great singer. The original was kind of blend and too repetitive, but Nicole was the great singer!
I kinda disagree with your comments on her style choices, I think they was very tasteful! She has the skill to do it and it was very controlled and executed cleanly! If someone wants it sang like Loren Allred then they can search for Loren an watch her version instead. But I enjoyed the video 🙂
Did you want to do a Musical Theatre Monday Collab sometime? we could pick a number with dancing and singing and I can react to the dancing and you can react to the singing!
More reaction to Leona Lewis (Run, Bleeding love). I would also like to know, you once said, you didnt think her nose operation changed the way she sings/sounds. I kind of disagree of that, i mean can you compare her 2007 version of Run and 2012 - both on x factor, for example and tell me more about sound changes that we can hear. Tnx a lot 💗
Nicole is this biggest example of how singing isn't enough in this industry...Writing is valued most on the creative side and to the people its all about the image.... in what world is jlo more talented than Nicole? none... but jlo is way more popular. "relatable" lol. I mean thats low key why rap is the most popular genre now and even most popular singing songs today are the easier songs that people can sing at home.
